The UX/UI Developer is responsible for developing finished user interfaces from wireframes and prototypes. You will also work closely with product to continuously improve the design to optimize the user experience and achieve business goals.

The UX/UI Developer will work with the Product team to use data gathered from usability testing to create the best user experience possible. The UX/UI Developer will explore different approaches and technologies to solve end-users' problems. The UX/UI Developer works with the UX Designer on new designs and workflows that can implemented efficiently and that will result in a better user experience aligned with stakeholder business goals. The UX/UI Developer reports to the Director, Applications. This is a full-time, exempt, remote position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translating requirements into style guides, design systems, design patterns and attractive user interfaces
  • Transform wireframes and high-fidelity mockups into functional and intuitive user interfaces.
  • Design and deliver experiences optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions in collaboration with Product Managers and functional SMEs.
  • Collaborating effectively with product, technology and program management teams
  • Develop and maintain a library of UI controls that conform to design standards.
  • Ensure that web interfaces meet requirements around design as well as performance and functionality.
  • Make enhancements to existing UI to improve performance, reliability, and aesthetic.
  • Evaluate new software tools and frameworks and make recommendations.
  • Act as lead UI developer for offshore vendor teams.
  • Mentor less senior UI developers.
  • Make strategic design decisions related to existing and new functionality.
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate designs.
  • Take smart risks and champion innovative ideas to achieve business goals and address customer needs in non-traditional approaches.
  • Consider existing applications (competitive solutions and relevant design analogues) and evaluating their UX (user experience) effectiveness.
  • Conduct user testing of applications, software and websites.
  • Define interaction models, user task flows, and UI (user interface) specifications.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Expert in UX/UI design software such as InVision, Sketch/UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer.js, to develop user experiences.
  • Expert level HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills.
  • Expert knowledge of .Net front-end development.
  • Knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Extensive experience in making web calls to services and server side code from web clients.
  • Familiar calling RESTful APIs from JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of web applications including web methods and page lifecycle events.
  • Expert level knowledge of the DOM.
  • Familiar with Angular.
  • Ability to employ design thinking methodologies to address complex problems.
  • Ability to apply information architecture principles to user experience problems.
  • Ability to work with health plans and healthcare providers to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet their needs and vision.
  • A deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to team members, customers, vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Be willing to help teammates, share knowledge with them, and learn from them.
  • Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
  • Be willing to learn new technologies, toolkits, and libraries.
  • Be passionate about all things UI and other areas of design and innovation. Research and showcase knowledge in the industry's latest trends and technologies.



EXPERIENCE:

  • Five or more years of experience in UX/UI Development.
  • Healthcare experience is a plus.



EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Design, Computer Science, Information Management, Usability, Human Computer Interaction preferred.
  • Relevant UX/UI development certifications.
