UX Strategist

We are seeking a user experience (UX) strategist adept at uncovering and documenting our client's business requirements and technical requirements, designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative UX research and analysis, facilitating usability testing, and translating these insights into sitemaps, personas, empathy maps, journey maps, user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes.

In this role, you will lead discovery and design of a range of digital experiences from individual campaigns to complete websites, threading a user-centered approach from concept to delivery through effective collaboration with content, creative, development and channel specialists. You will also evangelize and help grow the profile of user strategy and user-centered design throughout our organization, through development of case studies, thought leadership and engaging presentations to internal stakeholders, clients and prospects.

What you'd do (responsibilities)
  • Engage with senior and executive stakeholders in corporate communications, investor relations, B2B and B2C organizations to understand their unique business goals and user needs.
  • Use effective facilitation (questioning, listening, storytelling) and design to uncover, synthesize and communicate high-level concepts, insights and recommendations in presentations, reports, and workshops.
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, mockups and prototypes optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to maintain a user-centered approach and outcomes from strategy through development.
  • Conceive of and conduct user research and usability tests to maintain and continually improve digital user experiences and business outcomes.
  • Execute conversion rate optimization analyses, roadmaps, hypotheses, testing, and reporting, and collaborate with development to implement winning tests.
  • Further develop and evangelize the role, function and value of user-centered design and testing, internally and externally.
  • Research and showcase knowledge around UX trends, technologies, case studies and impact.

Skills you'll need (requirements)
  • Hands-on UX strategy experience. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate experience conducting user research (qualitative and quantitative) and both usability and conversion rate (A/B and multivariate) testing.
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), information architecture, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
  • High-EQ and facilitation skills. You must be highly client-facing and comfortable engaging with senior and executive stakeholders to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet both client and user expectations.
  • Preference will be given to candidate with deep experience applying UX strategies to one or more of the following areas: digital and performance marketing for B2B, B2C, B2B2C organizations, consulting and corporate communications (brand storytelling, ESG, talent acquisition and recruitment, investor relations, media relations). Experience with technology, higher education, service-based, and/or ecommerce industries and international organizations and users is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
  • Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate UX research and design processes, ideas, and solutions to internal teams and clients.
  • Enthusiasm for collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model, to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.
  • Passion for resolving user pain points through great design.
  • Willingness to receive feedback and constructive criticism, and an insatiable hunger to learn and grow.

Software Skills
  • Expertise in standard UX design and workshopping software such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, UXPin, Miro or similar tools.
  • Experience with heat-mapping software such as Lucky Orange, HotJar, CrazyEgg, etc.
  • Experience with A/B testing tools such as Convert, GoogleOptimize, etc.
  • Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
