Summary
The Researcher - User Experience (UX) is responsible for designing, conducting, analyzing, and reporting on product discovery and design research, as well as usability testing. Researchers collaborate with Designers and Product Managers in identification of user needs and goals to be tested. They are responsible for selecting the appropriate research methods given the questions to be answered and collaborating with colleagues on research stimulus and prototype development as needed. The Research team is responsible for ongoing updates to and development of user personas.
Essential Duties
- Work across projects and apps, often simultaneously
- Lead usability studies during the product concepting and design phase, from sketches to high fidelity prototypes and everything in between.
- Represent the voice of the customer at all times and inspire teams to put the user at the center of every decision made.
- Demonstrate strong awareness of market problems Widen seeks to solve and empathy for our users
- Collaborate with UX and Product Mgmt colleagues to plan and execute discovery research projects as needed
- Demonstrate commitment to bettering the team environment
- Require little direction from team leaders and anticipate the needs of the team
- Self-directed, take on work that needs doing without direction from leadership
- Prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion in your everyday work to create an environment of respect
- Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of Widen and Client information held, in any form
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Essential Qualifications
- Academic training or a certificate in UX fundamentals
- Experience designing and conducting usability tests
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
- Ability to work quickly and shift priorities frequently
- At least two years of professional experience conducting UX research
- Experience using multiple research methods including usability studies, surveys, interviews, behavioral analytics
- Knowledge of Research Operations fundamentals
