What are the ingredients of a successful researcher at JPMC?
You combine exceptional craft in working through the details of an experience with good problem-solving and communication skills. You are a master with organizing and planning research and you can draw quick wireframes to communicate ideas. You are at your best when collaborating with other researchers, designers, product managers, and developers to create experiences that marry the best of user, business + technology thinking. You love obsessing over details. You advocate for the user.

  • Test prototypes and reference designs for websites, apps, and other digital experiences, all with the ecosystem and journey of end users in mind

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a higher than usual degree of user empathy, and will be able to tell a compelling story about the motivations and intentions of our users, inspiring all stakeholders towards "Aha!" moments.
  • Be able to take sometimes, fuzzy-headed notions and craft those into solid, testable research hypotheses around which you will design and deliver the appropriate research.
  • Have excellent project management and organizational skills and be able to work collaboratively and productively with diverse teams and as well as independently.
  • Take a question or a problem and be able to translate it into a testable hypothesis-complete with a specific method and tasks that illuminate the heart of the issue.
  • Be able to quickly understand the needs of our internal clients-especially as they relate to who their users are and what questions they really need to have answered.
  • Develop research strategies and proposals and execute on time and on budget.
  • You are digitally savvy ideally with experience in both quantitative and qualitative methods and are comfortable presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with our visual designers to further improve information architecture, site navigation, labels, and other design elements.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of user experience research tools and techniques (e.g. field research, heuristic reviews, usability testing, benchmarking, card sorts, etc.), and know the strengths and weaknesses of each.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Design Research, Cognitive Sciences, Anthropology or related discipline from a major accredited college or university
  • 2-3 years or equivalent experiences as a researcher for enterprise software, digital platforms, and defining research documentation standards
  • A balance of empathy, productivity + a passion for elegant, simple, emotionally rich design
  • Excellent communication, listening, and negotiation skills with clients and senior executives- write, speak and present information effectively, persuasively and confidently in a variety of communication/corporate settings
  • Experience partnering with multiple teams including UX design, product management, and development
