About the Job

Buildertrend is looking for a UX Designer to work on the #1 project management software for home builders and remodelers.

Our UX Designers are responsible for designing web, iOS, and/or Android application experiences. Working with their design lead and product partners, they seek to create experiences that create user value and address desired product outcomes. Product Designers work to design product solutions for defined problems, pulling from existing knowledge and doing specific user research to better define the problem space and solution.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following
• Working closely with product management to understand and create solutions for our users
• Leveraging existing quantitative and qualitative knowledge about user challenges to inform and make decisions on design direction
• Investigating gaps in our understand of user challenges using data analytics and user research
• Leading solution ideation to further refine the user/business/technical intersection of possible design solutions
• Creating right-sized conceptual assets, based on requirements, for team alignment, feedback, and implementation
• Validating solutions through prototyping and other research activities
• Supporting developers in pragmatically addressing challenges during implementation
• Continuing to refine solutions iteratively after release through user feedback
• Working with Lead Designers to understand our experience vision, understand feedback on work, and to grow your design skillset
• Working within and helping to evolve Buildertrend's Design System

Qualifications
• BA/BS Degree in Graphic Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 2+ years of relevant work experience in UX, product, or web design
• Strong UX/product design portfolio showcasing your approach to solving (and communicating) a variety of complicated design problems using creativity, critical thinking, and fluency in best practices of user-centered design
• Experience designing both web and mobile applications • Proficiency with Figma, Adobe CS (including XD), or other design tools
• Experience in user research techniques including user interviews and usability testing
• Ability to effectively communicate research results and design decisions
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment
• Experience with a variety of UX design deliverables including: rapid prototypes, user stories, concept sketches, storyboards, information architecture, interaction design, interface (UI) design, visual design, and infographics
