We are seeking a highly engaged and fiercely empathetic UX Designer to join our Managing Expenses Design Studio. The studio focuses on reimagining the way our members and consumers understand, prepare and manage healthcare expenses. In this role, you will work closely with various studio disciplines, design leadership, product and business stakeholders to develop and translate the product strategy into a compelling design vision.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leverage human-centered design methods to design high-quality, branded experiences and solutions that intersect the needs of the business, health care professionals and UnitedHealthcare members
  • Consistently collaborate with other design disciplines and experience levels to develop and communicate the consumer experience through a variety of UX activities and deliverables such as workshops, wireframes, user flow diagrams, mockups, and interactive prototypes for testing and/or execution
  • Be a trusted design partner in a highly cross-functional team setting from discovery through product development (partners may include research, operations, marketing, product management, and engineering)
  • Support our research teams in the design and fielding of research studies, then translate user needs and research findings into usable design improvements and/or new opportunities
  • Continually advocate for the user and ensure there is a shared understanding of the problems we are solving ( Be the voice of the user in prioritization, new products and features)

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of hands of experience with information architecture, interaction design, ux design or graphic design
  • 2+ years incorporating user feedback in the design process (user research, NPS, Voice of the customer)
  • 2+ years of experience with prominent industry design tools (Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Axure)
  • 1+ years of experience building and/or consuming personas to inform design decisions
  • 1+ years of experience working in cross functional teams
  • 1+ years of experience presenting to stakeholders


Preferred Qualifcations:

  • Degree or certifications in Human Centered Design
  • Experience with Agile product development
  • Knowledge and understanding of front-end development
  • Ability to work across a matrixed multi-tiered organization and deliver the best possible outcomes

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
