As a key member of the Digital Experience and Design team, the UX Architect is an accomplished professional responsible for acting as principle experience design solution leads for enterprise-level initiatives and establishing the over-arching experiences and standards. Leading UX design and UX research that drives intuitive user experiences with our digital properties.

This role works closely with the UX Visual Architect and the UX Development Architect generating big ideas, establishing collaborative digital solutions to enterprise-wide objectives. Working with stakeholders, leaders and team members to research, design and implement innovative solutions that push the boundaries of current enterprise digital capabilities, advocating for improved user experiences which in turn creates high-performing teams.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Leads enterprise strategic initiatives from a user experience design and research perspective.
  • Fulfills role as principle solution lead for UX Designers and UX Researchers, coordinating the creative process, project direction and implementation while collaborating with business partners to help set and coordinate solutioning efforts across the corporation.
  • Understands full UX and the business product lifecycles, bringing forth design thinking from discovery of user/customer and business opportunities through solution definition, implementation and iteration.
  • Conceiving and implementing design concepts, strategies and direction of marketing web sites and web-based applications.
  • Supervising the UX design processes while closely collaborating with fellow UX Team members and business partners to improve user experience, performance, and accessibility.
  • Translates essential business strategies to UX strategies by fully understanding business capabilities, requirements, product details, and how outside factors (ex. Compliance, ADA, legal ramifications) influence initiatives.
  • Iterates on ideas based upon validated learning, critique, and collaboration.
  • Analyze data to inform and articulate design decisions.
  • Coordinates efforts across multiple environments/teams to improve user experiences.
  • Mentors team members on various UX design processes in order to improve skillsets within the Digital Experience and Design Team.
  • Ongoing awareness of how design decisions impact the entire site experience.
  • Effectively manage their workflow to meet expectations and deadlines.
  • Leads and implements UX design standards for Digital UX Designers, UX Researchers, vendors, and business partners.
  • Understand and plan how the business strategy ties to the user strategy.
  • Think beyond the screen to other channels and future technologies identify opportunity area for digital property enhancements.
  • Communicate project goals and the importance of research of design.
  • Design wireframes, initial layouts, interactive prototypes and other assets to communicate design strategy.
  • Work with the team to define design requirements.
  • Focus on the big picture, the journeys, mindsets and contexts in which users actually experience our digital properties.
  • Facilitates and advocates user focus across the organization and communicates the value and principles of user-centered design and development.

ABOUT YOU:

  • You are able to work remotely and have access to high-speed internet.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience as a UX Designer, UX Researcher, or UX interaction design preferably as a member of UX team(s).
  • Experience with creating and conducting moderated and unmoderated usability studies.
  • Familiarity with digital design and understanding digital analytics.
  • Uses the UX design process to approach solving digital design challenges.
  • Proficient with common design software (Adobe products, Sketch, InVision, Keynote/PPT for the creation of IXD artifacts, documentation, and presentations -or- fluency with Photoshop and Illustrator or Sketch).
  • Ability to design for and execute across multiple interfaces, platforms and channels (Web, email, mobile, social media).
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating ideas through effective storytelling with sketches, wireframes, comps and prototypes
  • Strong experience with ADA compliance requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking and critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics or other Web analytics solutions.
  • Strong understanding of branding as it relates to user experience.
  • Humility and recognition that you don't have all the answer.
  • Strong proven experience of communicating ideas through design prototypes.
  • Fluent in responsive design.
  • Sound knowledge of insurance of insurance products and the insurance industry.
  • Adept in problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Excellent Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written), presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and an enthusiasm for continuous learning.
  • Creativity, imagination and a sense of humor.
  • Places high value on the diverse strengths, backgrounds, and talents others bring to the workforce.

VALUABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in design or related field.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Experience as a design team lead or mentor to members of design teams.
  • Experience designing for mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
  • Interest and participation in professional industry groups, conferences.

  • Salary Range: Minimum: $92,680 MidPoint: $122,798 Maximum: $152,915
