The Role
As a UX Designer, you'll influence our organization and the user experience of our platform, improving its design and usability, and citing opportunities for continued enhancements. The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative, and feedback. You'll be working side-by-side with other Product Designers, as well as the UX Researchers, Design Technologists, Content Strategists, and Technical Writers that comprise the UX Organization. We are a fluid, collaborative, cross-functional team - you'll also be working closely with Product Owners, Quality Engineers, and Developers.
Key responsibilities

  • Understand complex technological concepts and communicate them simply, in visual form, with minimal guidance
  • Collaborate and communicate across teams and roles: we operate in alignment to the Product Triad model
  • Design with consistency, and an attention to detail
  • Exhibit familiarity of qualitative research methods, and know how to design evidence-based solutions
  • Contribute to our Design System, UI Guidelines, and their maintenance
  • Design inclusively, with a demonstrated understanding of WCAG 2.1
  • Think both conceptually and pragmatically about product strategy to ensure that Boomi remains an industry leader
  • Effectively manage "up" and across


Essential requirements

  • An insatiable curiosity, a collaborative spirit, and a growth mindset, as well as strong alignment with our team's Core Values
  • Professional experience in the design of complex business systems and applications, or product development, with some experience leading those efforts
  • Strong empathy for our customers, the ability to understand their needs, and manifest them in optimally-designed experiences (sketches, wireframes, and prototypes)
  • Exceptional verbal and visual communication skills
  • A demonstrated understanding of excellence over perfection - you must be comfortable working nimbly, with 'just enough' data to make informed decisions and operate within a fast-paced agile environment
  • Work samples and/or case studies that show us how you work through the process, and the outcome of those efforts


Desirable skills

  • A considered, clearly-articulated design philosophy, and a developing understanding of business acumen
  • Experience working in Agile environments, and a familiarity with SaaS products
  • A 'niche' area of strength, e.g., technical abilities, familiarity with HTML and CSS, conceptual design abilities, visual design, design systems, or content strategy
  • Involvement in the UX community
  • The ability to provide and accept constructive feedback in a timely and direct manner
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • The desire to collaborate, with the ability to operate with minimal oversight
