Our outdoor team is seeking a full-time User Experience Designer 1 at our world headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. In this UX role, you will be responsible for understanding fundamental usability and user centered design principals to guide software user interface development for various products with different specifications as well as working closely with software engineers, graphics artists, and product managers of the assigned project.

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor's Degree in Interactive Design, Human Factors, Visual Design or a degree with an equivalent curriculum that teaches user centered design principles with a cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 and the ability to effectively apply learned knowledge. Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Design and prototype new user experiences for new features and products.
- Communicate research and designs using mockups, story boarding, visual presentations and writing behavioral documentation
- Produce creative, simple and highly usable solutions for how products interact in response to human behavior
- Work closely with software engineers, graphics artists, and product managers of the assigned project in determining design directions
- Assist with new user interface testing and conduct usability tests to get feedback on new designs
- Collaborate with and communicate to teams in engineering and product managers to produce superior solutions
- Maintain and ensure user interface design and behavioral consistency across product types
- Remain current on user interface design trends and competitors' design
- Stay abreast with new prototyping, presentation or computer graphics techniques and software
- Communicates status of work clearly and provides visibility to supervisor or mentor
Qualifications

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor's Degree in Interactive Design, Human Factors, Visual Design or a degree with an equivalent curriculum that teaches user centered design principles with a cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 and the ability to effectively apply learned knowledge. Other requirements include:
- Demonstrates proficiency and exceptional skills in creating different types of prototypes or mock-ups using Figma, Sketch and/or Adobe XD. Experience with visual design in Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
- Demonstrates excellent presentation, communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of good user interface design (consistency, simplicity, usability)
- Previous experience in graphics production, graphics editing technology, motion graphics, interactive design works and/or videography is highly preferred!
