Job Description The Digital Customer Experience Organization within JP Morgan Chase is an interdisciplinary group made up of UI/UX designers, business developers, graphics designers, user experience research, user strategy, project managers, copywriters and other creative professionals. Each brings a unique set of skills and expertise which make for an incredible work environment and great products. We are responsible for delivering unique and innovative designs and experiences across organizations, applications, products and offerings and we are looking to hire an experienced and talented UX lead to be a part of our Consumer Bank group.
Consumer bank includes our core banking capabilities and this position will focus on evolving our deposits (Checking, savings, etc) platform. This evolution represents one of the largest paradigm shifts the firm has had across our 2.6 trillion dollars in assets and millions of users. This presents an amazing opportunity at a scale which few other financial institutions can provide. Your work will have reach and impact on a large scale in the financial services sector while working in a creative, dynamic and multicultural environment.
The position:
User Experience Design Lead
Locations: Plano, TX. New York Metro, NYC. Chicago, Illinois.
We are looking for an experienced UX designer who is keen on innovation and loves to solve complex problems. This team member will be an essential part of an ongoing evolution of how we think about financial services. Changing how we think of creating value from selling products to solving needs. From serving account holders to unique individuals and ultimately selling customers not on more products but the right products at the right time.

A day in the life:

  • Get to say hi to an amazing multi-disciplinary team who truly cares about each other and our users (egos get checked at the door)
  • Brainstorm and ideate on how to make business owners lives a little easier
  • Collaborate and problem solve through complex challenges with our product and technology partners
  • Work with our research team to test and learn from various business users
  • Design and prototype potential solutions using tools such as sketch and invision
  • Meet with other team members to ideate and update designs and concepts
  • Go home at a decent hour


What you'll need:

  • 5-8+ years' experience working in a professional capacity as User Experience Designer working on complex enterprise applications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a design-related field
  • Strong understanding of complex data systems and multi-step flow processes
  • Understanding of visual perception and cognition in creating interaction rich applications, sites, and mobile experiences
  • A strong portfolio of work emphasizing depth of experience with information, interaction, motion and visual design; its impact on human behavior
  • Proven experience designing for complex, innovative, enterprise experiences
  • Ability to explain designs with rationale rooted in user needs and business goals and receive feedback
  • Understanding of methods and techniques to ensure the team is solving the right problem
  • Enjoys the multi-disciplinary and collaborative team nature of product design & development in a large organization
  • Detail-oriented with an appreciation for the value of strong visual aesthetics across everything you create
  • Responsive, communicative, and able to take initiative to remove roadblocks when necessary
  • Must be capable of independent decision-making as well as able to take direction
  • Under advisement from Lead and more senior staff, recommend and at times make decisions affecting one or more projects
  • Must be able to translate business problems and requirements into compelling UI's
  • Exceptional skills with standard UX software such as Sketch & Invision and/or Figma
  • An online portfolio demonstrating superior user experience design skill is required with your application
