Modern Animal is looking for a Product Designer to join our growing team. This critical team member will work in partnership with our existing product team and engineering team to build and enhance our digital platform. This person will report directly to the Head of Product.

As a Product Designer at Modern Animal, you will be part of a collaborative team while working independently to accomplish your unique milestones. If not already familiar with the veterinary industry (that’s totally ok!), you will find yourself as an expert very quickly and will bring your unique skills to the team to help improve the quality of work and life for our Veterinarians and support team.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about pets and the people who love them and is excited about rolling up their sleeves to bring our mission to life as we grow.

What does the job entail?

• Champion design thinking to create beautiful and usable flows that solve problems for our internal team and growing member base
• Carry ideas from concept through execution
• Gather insights from employees, members, and analytics to better understand our opportunities and translate insights into product recommendations 
• Work closely with product management and engineering to develop features and enhance existing ones
• Explore new design trends, themes, best practices, and patterns across various platforms and determine if and how they should be implemented into the Modern Animal experience

You’d be a great fit:

• 2+ years mobile application and web UI/UX experience
• A collaborative go-getter, willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done
• Ability to work under pressure in a high demand environment
• Great time and process management skills
• Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite and collaborative design & engineering software such as Figma, Zeplin, Jira, or Sketch
• Experience doing wire-frames, high and low-fidelity app design mockups, componitizing, and responsive web design
• Experience collaborating with remote & distributed teams 
• Based in Los Angeles, or willing to relocate
