User Interface Designer, Design Systems Join Collibra’s Product Design team:

Collibra is creating a world-class enterprise design system and seeks a skilled and passionate UI designer for that effort. Our customers are some of the most data-intensive companies on the planet. 

Reporting to the Director of User Experience, you will dive deep with teammates in Research, Writing, Design Ops, Product Management, and Engineering. Together we’ll deliver user-empowering enterprise data management and intelligence solutions and experiences that have measurable positive impacts for our customers and on our business.

UI designers at Collibra responsibilities:

  • Being the steward of the Collibra Design System. You know the importance and power of a design system, and you advocate for its proper use. 
  • Constantly evolving the Collibra Design System so that it continues to be one source of truth for our designers and developers.
  • Reflecting your love for detail in the design language, and documentation of critical elements and detailed behaviors of our product design system components so we can achieve better quality and scale.
  • Envisioning and crafting new product concepts and information design alongside multidisciplinary team members in order to create beneficial, robust, accessible, and high-performing interactions.

You Have:

  • 3-4 years of experience working as a UI or UX Designer and shaping a design system
  • A bachelor's degree in graphic design, UX/UI Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • A portfolio of full-lifecycle, goal-centered interface design work in complex domains for web, desktop, and mobile 
  • The ability to collect and synthesize feedback and input from users, research, leadership, product management, and engineering teams and then incorporate that into our designs
  • The ability to express a clear design direction with tactics for implementation and gain stakeholder agreement
  • Fluency in U.S. or British English

You Are:

  • Skilled in visual design and able to demonstrate your expertise through scenarios, design concepts, user journeys, and low- and high-fidelity mockups
  • Capable of collaborating with interdependent multidisciplinary teams 
  • Experienced in contributing to and applying modern design systems
  • Experienced working  within brand guidelines to create experiences that reinforce a brand’s style or voice through its visual touchpoints
  • Proficient in modern design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma), prototyping tools (e.g. InVision, Principle), and project management tools (e.g. Asana, Jira)
  • Capable of designing sophisticated products for global markets
  • Experience conceiving and delivering non-obvious designs for products and features
  • The ability to explain design rationale to peers
  • Knowledge and capabilities in more than one design subdiscipline

Reporting to the UX manager, measures of success will be:

    • Month 1: Complete onboarding and deep dive into understanding our products
    • Month 2: Explore and understand design system and UI design priorities; participate in all design team activities
    • Month 3: Design, document, and get buy-in for 2 design system primitives or components
