Our Opportunity: 

Chewy is seeking a talented, passionate, and proactive Associate Director, Media Content Services  to join our in-house Post-Production Department located in Dania Beach, FL. You’ll be responsible for leading the Media Content Services team within the Post-Production Department. Oversee the ingestion and media management of video and photo assets and foster the growth and collaboration of Metadata Managers, Workflow Engineers, Media Managers, and Assistant Video Editors. Ensure the proper entry of metadata, administrate a MAM, and work with partners to facilitate updates to technology and processes as needed. Experience and prowess to balance a multitude of overlapping and diverse projects, in a fast-paced environment, as the Post-Production department supports all business units at Chewy.  

What You’ll Do: 

  • Directly manage Metadata Managers, Workflow Engineers, Media Managers, and Assistant Video Editors to help engage partners and clients to serve all content needs  
  • Lead and coach team members to ensure all video and photography assets are properly ingested, tagged, stored, and archived for future use  
  • Administrate a Chewy MAM, including user training, account management, and metadata administration including establishing new workflows and standards. 
  • Work with partners in IT and Technical Operations to support important workflow tools  
  • Identify technical obstacles and troubleshoot to solve underlying issues  
  • Coordinate directly with all Post-Production teams (Media Content Services, Video Editorial, Motion Graphics & Design, and Photo Retouching) to ensure all media needs are being met, and work together to solve process and workflow problems as they arise  
  • Partner closely with the Director of Post-Production to communicate opportunities for improvement with larger processes or workflows and escalate pain points as appropriate  
  • Foster growth and structure for all team members  
  • Track and report metrics and KPIs to assess departmental progress and opportunities for improvement  
  • Stay up-to-date with technological advancements in the Post-Production sphere, and work with other Post-Production team leads on initiatives to update technologies and processes to continually optimize internal workflows  
  • Partner closely with the Director of Post-Production and Post-Production team leads to assess needs and execute future team growth  

What You’ll Need: 

  • 5+ years of Media Content Management leadership or managerial experience 
  • 3+ years of MAM administration experience  
  • Fluent in Post-Production asset tech-specs from ingest to delivery  
  • Nuanced understanding and experience with the Post-Production sphere and it’s intertwining workflow needs for Video and Photography  
  • Deep passion for everything Media Management & Post-Production - there’s no place you’d rather be than in the thick of it with Media Managers, Video Editors, Photo Retouchers, Motion Designers, Colorists, and Audio Engineers! 
  • Experience with leading or collaborating with team members across multiple sites  
  • Thrive in an ever-developing, fast-paced environment - happy to be flexible and pivot on a dime! 
  • Able to think critically about ambiguous problems, and, based on job-specific knowledge and experience, quickly make decisions, openly communicate directives, and facilitate pivots with collaborating Post-Production teams  
  • Buckling under pressure is not in your vocabulary, and you can continue to positively coach and guide your team, even when everyone's in the weeds  
  • Must be a strong people leader, mentor, and be invested in the growth and development of direct and dotted line reports  
  • Active listener with a strong ability to think critically and guide others  
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills  
  • A positive, can-do attitude with teammates and clients alike  
  • Available to work on weekends and evenings when needed  
  • Position may require travel
