Sr. Manager, Global Design Strategy

We’re looking for a Sr. Manager to lead the Global Design Strategy team within the Creative Strategy organization. This Sr. Manager will be expected to set a clear and actionable vision for the team, partner directly with Snap Inc.’s Creative Strategy leadership, Creative Production & Sales Operations teams as well as third-party partners to scale elevated design systems and solutions for brand clients. The Sr. Manager will cultivate a talented multidisciplinary team of designers with functional expertise in Graphic Design / Animation / Motion / 3D development. The Sr. Manager will be expected to build trusted cross-functional partnerships in and out of Snap Inc. The Sr. Manager will also be expected to represent Design Strategy as the functional leader in internal executive and external client meetings.
The ideal candidate will have world-class communication skills (especially through an executive lens), a proven track record of leading a high-performing design team and an innate ability to navigate seamlessly between design mindset and business strategy. They will also have a strong background in developing effective design processes that deliver structure and impact.
What You’ll Do:
Lead a global team of Snapchat Design Strategists responsible for elevating brand campaigns (pre-sale and post-sale) through design formats: graphic, motion, illustration, animation, 3D & presentation
Clearly define and communicate team guiding principles, core areas of responsibility and success criteria
Develop designer-specific career paths, development plans and learning agendas
Align with Creative Strategy leadership on design priorities and project selection with an emphasis on high-impact engagements
Partner closely with Creative Production & Sales Operations to implement transparent rules of engagement for the internal Design Strategy team and external design partners
Merchandise the team’s functional expertise and achievements to relevant internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven track record of leading and inspiring diverse design teams that deliver at exceptional standards
Proven ability to foster trust and credibility with senior-level executives in and out of Snap
Proven track record of framing the value of design in the context of a global business -- leading with equal emphasis on design vision, operational excellence and business results
Minimum qualifications:
10+ years of design experience in a business setting with at least 3+ years in design leadership roles
Proven track record of successfully introducing and scaling new processes that drive design impact and efficiency
Experience managing high-functioning teams across design disciplines
Preferred qualifications:
Leadership experience across global markets
Ability to craft compelling pitch materials and strategy documents to gain executive alignment
Ability to travel across regions if / when needed
