About the Role
Yalo is looking for a bilingual (Spanish, English) Instructional Designer to drive the development of creative learning solutions that facilitate customer use and adoption of Yalo’s industry-leading conversational platform. Your focus will be creating engaging multimedia educational experiences for our customers and partners within our online learning portal.
As Instructional Designer, you will collaborate across Yalo from Marketing & Product to Delivery, Sales & Customer Success to define, design & build customer learning journeys that bring Yalo’s platform to life and empower Yalo customers to create conversational commerce experiences that delight their users
Who You Are
You are a creative, passionate, and technically-inclined educator who understands adult learners as well as the opportunities and challenges presented by online learning. You are fluent in English and Spanish and are comfortable using either in a business or technical scenario. You work well cross-functionally and are comfortable collaborating with others to jointly solve problems or design. You are biased towards action and fast iteration to improve outcomes.

- 3-5 years of multimedia instructional design experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Minimum two years experience writing, planning, executing and delivering online learning (ideally for a software product) including overall establishing learning objectives, understanding learner profiles, and developing course outlines.
- Experience creating highly engaging educational content using text, images, audio, video, and other technologies.
- Experience in HTML, JavaScript & CSS (Lua and handlebars proficiency is a bonus)
- Proven skill working with subject matter experts
- Strong listening and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail & organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editorial skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form successful relationships and collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and competing priorities
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with constant change and a rapidly growing team
What are the main activities of an Instructional Designer?
- Design and develop course content, provide eLearning guidance, liaise with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to establish learning journey and course objectives and design strategy
- Partner with key stakeholders to manage design/build documents and templates for highly engaging and interactive on-demand learning that embody Yalo’s values and meet learner needs
- Develop and prepare presentation materials; write, direct, edit videos and voice overs
- Master the Yalo platform and its products to deliver high value learning experiences
- Use innovative techniques and creative delivery mechanisms to reach multilingual, distributed customers, partners and staff
- Create and manage reporting to track learner progression against learning objectives and measure effectiveness of learning
- Define and implement success measures for the Yalo product enablement program
- Educate and mentor peers on the use of the on demand learning platform and content authoring tool
