POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Instructional Design Specialist is self-motivated and has a passion for delivering excellent learning solutions. Responsible for the design and development of company-wide training materials, the ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess the ability to balance multiple projects and related tasks at one time. The candidate should be a strong problem solver who is able to work independently and collaboratively to provide quality learning solutions aligned with current adult learning principles. The candidate must be equipped to design a variety of learning deliverables including e-learning modules, facilitator and participant guides, job aids, videos, and other creative learning materials. Additionally, the Senior Instructional Design Specialist is responsible for the evaluation of training programs to determine their effectiveness on improving employee performance and meeting organizational goals.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applies sound instructional design principles in the design and development of blended learning solutions and materials.
  • Consults with internal business partners and subject matter experts to appropriately scope and align learning objectives to business needs and desired outcomes.
  • Leads design projects, maintains project plans, scopes resource requirements, and collaborates with internal team and subject matter experts to deliver effective learning products.
  • Consults with management regarding organizational effectiveness and employee development needs.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs and recommends modifications according to business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with the production team to create consistent, high-quality materials that are always on brand.
  • Works closely with the design team to guide the creation of impactful assets for eLearnings, animated and instructional videos, job aids, posters, and infographics.
  • Mentors other members of the instructional design team in established learning design methods, current trends, and best practices.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent



QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree instructional design/curriculum development or related field preferred.
  • Ability to apply effective instructional design strategies and adult learning principles to real-world applications.
  • Skilled in the design and development of technical and conceptual content.
  • Desire to manage large design and development projects from conception through design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively, problem-solve, and demonstrate flexibility in approach to learning design.
  • Ability to take projects from concept to completion with an eye for detail.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working with all levels of personnel.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects to successfully meet deadlines.
  • Self- motivated and proactive nature.
  • Ability to work in a team or autonomously.
  • Proficiency and competence with technical development including: Articulate Storyline, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, WebEx, and LMS systems.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in instructional design and development within a corporate team environment.
