Sr. Digital Designer
Zone & Co's Brand & Marketing team is hiring a Sr. Digital Designer!
This will be our third hire to expand the Brand & Marketing team and is a senior role, so this is an exciting opportunity to co-create the future of how Zone markets. We're looking for a talented digital designer (and brand strategist, if we're so lucky) to create interactive, digital content for our ecosystem of owned, earned, and paid media channels. You'll be responsible for producing unique digital-first experiences that strengthen the company's brand, position, and marketing strategy to increase engagement and improve our ability to grow on all digital channels.

About the Job
This role is a digital design & branding "generalist" role. As a Sr. Digital Designer, you'll be creating a variety of digital media to support content on all channels that tell Zone's story in the way best suited for the audience and moment - Zone Blog, Email, Social, YouTube, and more. Your immediate objective? Design engaging digital experiences, graphics, or animations that captivate our intended audience and encourage them to act.
You will be considered the domain authority on Zone's visual identity and all "branding," whether on our website , in sales materials, or swag. As you grow in your role and your time here at Zone, you'll rapidly gain opportunities to co-create and direct the vision for the brand as we scale. We just went through a deep rebrand so there's a lot of room for foundational contribution
You'll also need a keen sense of empathy and an interest in understanding the thinking, reasoning, decision-making, reactions, and guiding principles of the people we support in our business (i.e. leads, prospects, partners, potential talent, and customers). These should be guiding factors in your design process.
And of course, you love to design. We don't want you doing something you don't love as much as we can help it (but expense reports are still a thing, for example, lol). You understand that storytelling is the most powerful form of communication and that the pixels matter as much as the words. You know that great storytelling isn't always just about great production, and that progress is (almost) always better than perfection.
Our ideal candidate should also be able to effectively find the intersection of creativity, functionality, and technology to design eye-catching and informative content in a multitude of formats. In this role, organizational and technical skills are key in addition to design prowess, and all candidates ideally possess in-depth knowledge of modern design software programs, whether Adobe or Figma (we use both).
Sr. Digital Designer Responsibilities:
- Designing, producing, and managing interactive online content, including email templates, social media, animations for video, digital out-of-home, informative papers, and more.
- Ensuring consistency in designs and content across all company platforms.
- Managing and continuously improving brand guidelines and digital asset management processes & technologies.
- Reviewing brand identity, company & product positioning, and internal/external marketing content to identify room for improvement.
- Advising and directing the aesthetic for campaigns, content, and any other brand-related events or materials.
- Designing, developing, and managing our suite of swag (we know this isn't digital, but not everything has to be).
- Collaborating with multiple departments or stakeholders to inform design solutions.
- Co-creating design briefs for large projects and presenting design ideas to all the relevant stakeholders.
- Participating in the UX and UI (we consider them separate) design processes for newly developed, acquired, or revived products.
- Transforming wireframes or design concepts into usable prototypes.
- Presenting new content or customer engagement ideas to the team for implementation or experimentation.
Sr. Digital Designer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or self-guided experience in digital design, graphic design, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience working for a company or agency.
- Animation experience (primarily for video or digital OOH).
- Digital Illustration experience.
- Proven successes in a professional digital design role.
- A portfolio of previous digital design work to showcase experience and creativity. Please try and show us how you solve business problems with design if you can -- huge plus for the team here since we're very problem-space & human-centered design oriented.
- Solid knowledge of design software programs, such as Figma, InVision, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to clearly present design ideas and concepts for campaigns and projects.
- A team player with exceptional organizational and technical skills.
Sr. Digital Designer Would-be-awesome-but-not-required:
- Experience developing in Webflow
- Experience with or knowledge of the Oracle NetSuite market
- Experience with or knowledge of the order-to-cash or lead-to-revenue business cycle
- Experience with or knowledge of Problem Space Research (by Indi Young )
- UI or UX design and/or research experience
- Experience doing data visualization (or dataviz) design
- Experience with video editing
