Senior/Principal UX Interaction Designer, RCV
Say hello to possibilities.
It’s not everyday that you consider starting a new career. We’re RingCentral, and we’re happy that someone as talented as you is considering this role.
First, a little about us, we’re a global leader in cloud-based communications and collaboration software. We are fundamentally changing the nature of human interaction—giving people the freedom to connect powerfully and personally from anywhere, at any time, on any device.
We’re a $1.5 billion company that’s growing at 30+% annually and we’re expanding our UX/UI Team to make sure we stay ahead of the competition.
We’re currently looking for:
The Principal UX Interaction Designer will work closely with one or more product teams on the desktop/web/mobile applications to develop a point of view on our users, their challenges, and the product features we need to deliver to meet their needs. Then, knowing what we want to do, you will design the interfaces we need to develop in order to deliver those features.
The successful candidate will have a deep portfolio of interaction design at all levels of fidelity from rough sketches to final spec documents, with a specific emphasis on the design and socialization of pattern libraries.
You work equally well with designers and engineers, understanding the symbiosis that exists between the two. You adapt well to changing priorities and different flavors of projects, from forward-thinking initiatives to clearly defined projects that move fast and are quick wins for the team. You have a passion for design and innovation and understand that culture is the foundation of success in UX.
You must be able to work independently on multiple projects, engaging at all levels of the organization from individual contributors to executive staff.
Responsibilities:
Partner with product teams to lead the design for our unified message, video, and phone experiences on desktop and mobile
Drive large projects from conception through delivery with a user-centered design approach
Balance large projects with requests for rapid ideation and design exploration
Drive timelines, coordinate resources, and communicate constantly for alignment and transparency within a cross-functional team
Act as a key liaison with the global engineering teams responsible for the implementation of the designs
Promote a culture of empathy for the end user, as seen through the focus on business objectives
Plan and facilitate collaboration and design activities with UX and cross-functional teams (e.g. brainstorms, design sprints, workshops)
Communicate your ideas to broad audiences from your peers to executive leadership
Build relationships with your UX peers, product and engineering partners
Contribute to the growth and culture of the UX team
Stay current on design trends, UX best practices, and relevant technologies
Be proactive, open, honest, and transparent
Qualifications:
Master’s degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and/or Visual Communication Design discipline
