UX designers at Whole Foods Market are responsible for rethinking the shopping experience and working diligently to find solutions that simplify and enhance our customers’ experience. Our UX designers balance the poetic with the practical and the creative with the analytical. We are looking to evolve our thinking throughout the entire ecosystem and welcome practical solutions along with divergent ideas. As a UX designer at Whole Foods Market you will work on many of the most important physical and digital customer touchpoints spanning both the Amazon and Whole Foods Market ecosystems.
You are a human-centered product designer and strong communicator who can work collaboratively on passionate teams. You empathize with the customer and take pride in untangling pain points in ways that embody and reinforce what the Whole Foods Market brand represents. You understand the difference and value in both generative and evaluative research and know when and how to effectively leverage both. You are willing to challenge the status quo as you advocate for customers. You develop ideas based on evidence and data, as well as intuition. You know how to employ an iterative design process to refine solutions so that they delight the customer and bring value to the business. You have the awareness to optimize designs for usability while adhering to technical constraints. You know how to communicate and collaborate with development partners to ensure quality fit and finish in the face of platform limitations. You are comfortable working across multiple modalities and interfaces from desktop and mobile to in-store experiences.
You know how to zoom out to see the bigger picture and new opportunities to help influence team strategy. You are also able to zoom in to tactically improve a feature, refining until it works just right. You are passionate about craft and overall ‘look’ and ‘feel.’ You understand the role aesthetics and attention to detail play in our user experience. You have a rich set of design thinking tools at your disposal and know when, and how, to apply them to solve user and business problems. You make intelligent tradeoffs between time, fidelity, and resources to ensure the best results for the business and, above all, our customers.
Please provide a link to past work and thinking.
