What We’re Looking For

Devetry is looking to add a Senior UX/UI Designer to our growing team. As a creative, strategic professional, the primary role for this position is to create intuitive and user-centric experiences for a variety of web-based software solutions. This role must showcase a deep knowledge of web and mobile interfaces, be able to articulate designs to clients and work closely with the development team to ensure the design meets established technical goals. This team member must be well-versed in industry trends and demonstrate a proactive and agile working style to meet the demands of our fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop and recommend senior-level UX/UI design solutions for web-based software
• Collaborate with our development team and clients to define requirements
• Demonstrate an effective approach to user experience strategy and architecting
• Background in visual design applied to the creation of wireframes and prototypes across multiple devices
• Ability to lead user/stakeholder-based interviews, workshops, focus groups, etc.
• Validate design solutions with usability testing and quantitative/qualitative customer research
• Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate conceptual ideas and design rationale
• Ability to succeed in a deadline-oriented environment
• Be an advocate for Devetry in the Portland/Denver community

What does it take to be successful in this role?

• Ability to blend intuitive UI with progressive technology
• Fluency in UX and UI design fundamentals such as conception/strategy and studying users, designing preliminary comps, page layouts, site content, graphics, templates, style guides, and navigational elements in accordance with project requirements
• An interest in user research
• Comfortable managing and directing Jr. Designers
• A willingness to learn about new topics, technologies, and industries
• Polished and effective communicator with the ability to evangelize best practices of UX/UI design
• Confidence and grace to handle design critique and iterate to success
• The ability to manage multiple projects with different timelines
• Balance to ensure designs push the envelope of innovation but are technically feasible
• Knowledge of best practices and platform-specific design/UI patterns (iOS and Android)
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to proactively solve problems
• Up-to-date with the latest UX/UI trends, techniques, and technologies
• Experience working in an agile development process

Experience using

• Adobe XD, Sketch or Figma
• Invision
• Adobe PS, In Design, Illustrator

A plus to have working knowledge in

• Optimal Workshop
• Various User Testing Tools
• Adobe After Effects

Compensation & Benefits

• For this role, the compensation range is from $80-105k annually, based on a 40-hour workweek.
