Senior UX Designer

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a UX Designer at Atmosphere,  you'll be responsible for collecting and translating user insights into delightful and functional experiences that address our customer's needs. You will use your creativity and eye for design – along with your technical knowledge – to develop great experiences, test hypotheses, and smash assumptions. You'll work closely with the Director of User Experience, product managers, and our development team. Together you'll create research plans, deliver and test UI mockups, prototypes, MVPs and launch final products. In this role, you'll have the privilege of being the voice of our customers, translating their needs into user-friendly designs and directly impacting the customer’s user experience of our product.

Atmosphere is the world’s first and largest free ad-supported streaming TV service for businesses offering original, owned, and operated TV channels along with Partner Channels from prominent brands. The platform has been built from the ground up with proprietary content, technology, and data to deliver unparalleled experiences for businesses and advertisers. The platform also provides a paid upgrade to a digital signage feature for businesses to run their house promotions within the content. Atmosphere was incubated under Chive Media Group and spun out in 2019.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Design user-focused wireframes, hi-fidelity mockups, interaction models, specifications, style guides and prototypes that elegantly illustrate a deep understanding of the user's needs
  • Build strong relationships with engineering and product partners to ensure the user is well represented 
  • Support and facilitate User Research; both quantitative and qualitative validation methodologies. 
  • Participate in workshops for journey mapping, brainstorming, vision sessions, and requirements gathering. 
  • Foster collaboration among cross functional and champion the users needs, wants, and pain-points.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ Years Experience in crafting user interfaces, digital products, and/or complex software applications
  • Ability to facilitate and lead In-Person Generative User Research and take a design project from inception all the way to engineering hand off, support, and validation.
  • Open to feedback, knows how give and receive criticism, and how and when to defend design decisions
  • Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in common design tools like Figma, Invision, UserTesting, and the Adobe CC Suite
  • Attention to detail and passionate problem solver with critical thinking skills
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating a history of creating user-centered designs that illustrate the ability to turn requirements into creative solutions
  • Humble & hungry, desire to work hard in a collaborative environment and grow

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated skills and/or ability in Visual Design
  • Demonstrated skills and/or ability in Design Testing & Validation processes
  • Understanding and knowledge of Human Centered Design / Design Thinking processes and methodologies
