Sr. Studio Artist (Hybrid)

Position Overview: Sr. Studio Artist

The Senior Studio Artist works with the Marketing Department and various supporting Safe-Guard departments to execute, produce, and publish accurate and high-quality content that meet corporate and client brand, product, and legal standards. Responsibilities include the typesetting and execution of product materials, execution of digital and print content, providing branding and assets for various Safe-Guard B2B applications, providing branding and assets for other Safe-Guard Departments (Legal, Retail Sales, Retail Training, IT, Aftersales, Operations), managing pre-production and production of content, and overseeing asset management.

Position Objective

Reporting to the Studio Manager, this Senior Studio Artist executes product and marketing materials. Media includes include web banners, proprietary digital platform graphics, print collateral, direct mail, advertisements, video, as well as legal contracts and business documents.

This person loves supporting the development of a final product, and lives for the details. They are a Master of Quality and accuracy and thrive working on short timelines and under tight parameters. The ideal Senior Studio Artist has significant experience in an executional role in a fast-paced environment to develop, version, edit, and finalize product and marketing support. They should have a deep understanding of the development and production of a wide range of media, including print, point-of-purchase (POP), direct mail, email, website graphics, web banners, social media graphics, video, presentations, as well as experience in detailed/technical documents such as annual reports, terms and conditions, etc.

Essential Functions:

  • With limited guidance, the Senior Studio Artist executes accurate and quality files per internal and external content edits, and per Safe-Guard or client's technical specifications (corporate identity requirements)
    • Supporting Designers with executing print marketing (collateral, POP, etc.), manuals, digital graphics, video, and other sales-marketing materials as needed
    • Legal agreements and business documents
  • Partners with and supports the Safe-Guard Creative team with executing digital and print content
    • Primarily includes support for the Marketing Department and a wide range of media
    • Also includes branding and asset support for deliverables for various other Safe-Guard Departments, including Legal, Retail Sales, Retail Training, IT, Aftersales, Operations
  • Manages the production process with internal teams and external vendors to meet creative, time, and budget needs, including obtaining and reviewing cost estimates; initiating production orders with specifications; reviewing and approving proofs; managing vendors through the production process to needs; communicating with internal and external team members through the production process as necessary
  • Use a deep working knowledge of one color to four color print process to properly setup electronic files for production. Must fully understand digital printing and offset printing and know the distinctions in file preparation for various printing processes.
    • Pre-flighting and file prep, ensuring typesetting, color, resolution, and any imagery meet requirements
    • Proof and sample reviews and approvals
    • File archiving to ensure updated versions are filed in a clear, cohesive, and consistent manner
  • Partners with Studio team members to document and publish final creative and project assets in a clear, cohesive and consistent manner
  • Fosters strong relationships with internal colleagues (e.g. Creative, Marketing, Legal)
  • Support team members by establishing effective interpersonal relationships, and cross functional partnering
  • Other duties, as dictated by departmental priorities



Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
  • At least 6 years' experience as a studio artist or production artist with experience supporting a Marketing department or Design team, preferably in an advertising agency or in-house agency environment
  • Strong background in marketing/advertising/graphic production is a must, including a mastery of execution and production for print collateral, dimensional/point-of-purchase (POP), digital graphics, and detailed/technical documents
  • Impeccable proofreading skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong attention to quality and accuracy
  • Must be a self-starter who can multi-task with strong project management and time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be self-motivated and proactive
  • Must be able to take direction, but independently follow through on projects and tasks
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Media Encoder
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience with a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system is a plus
  • This is a hybrid position with both remote and in-office workdays
