ABOUT THE JOB:

The Senior Product Designer will be leading the charge for the design of our UX/UI at ConsumerAffairs.com. To be successful in this role, this designer should have experience with design software, wireframe tools (Figma preferred), visual design, and conversion optimization and should feel confident and comfortable with working across multi-disciplinary teams in order to achieve measurable results. This role will require a strong set of both interaction design skills, as well as the visual design chops to take a lot of information and make it all look good in a small space. This candidate will be a self-starter and must be comfortable working independently in an agile and fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead projects across the entire product life cycle from conception to production
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with various members of the product team
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
  • Create original designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables) that move the needle and improve the consumer’s experience
  • Prepare and present concepts and pitches to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Identify and troubleshoot user problems and design solutions with success metrics that are measurable
  • Participate in user testing and user research; use findings to inform product and design decisions
  • Work within our design system & adhere to the design language - as you innovate for your team, we’ll work to shape that system at a platform level to systematically improve the experience of ConsumerAffairs.com
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources in an effective and timely manner.

Requirements

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • BSc in Design, Computer Science or relevant field

Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years experience as a Senior User Experience or Senior Product designer
  • Conversion optimization experience
  • Portfolio of interaction and visual design projects that demonstrates a holistic view of product experience

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong time-management skills; must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Figma, Sketch, Invision
  • Team collaborative spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with front-end engineers, product managers, and various stakeholders
  • Stands up for decisions, takes responsibility for results, and shares both good and bad outcomes transparently
  • Demonstrates a relentless focus on results with a commitment to deliver; Always starts with a "Let's go GRIND it out" attitude

  • Frequency of travel: Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training and/or conferences.
