Webflow University is Webflow’s learning platform and has established a reputation for having best-in-class teaching videos. We’re looking for a Senior Motion Designer to join our Webflow University Education Design team and help us educate, empower, and inspire everyone to create for the web — from video lessons and courses to in-product experiences on Webflow University.

As a Senior Motion Designer, you’ll …

• Create best-in-class 2D and 3D motion visuals. You’ll bring text, interfaces, and illustrations to life by creating visuals that reinforce teaching, engage audiences, and bend the laws of space and time. This includes developing motion assets for product demonstrations, ads, and other videos and visual experiences that showcase Webflow and other no-code tools. Your work will not only aim to get people excited about these tools; it’ll hopefully encourage many to learn the principles of design and development — empowering them to create almost anything they can dream up.
• Develop and maintain a scalable motion design system. You’ll lead the development of a scalable motion design system for Webflow University that will be used by Producers and Editors on the Video team. This can include guidelines, principles, and reusable components that will be implemented in hundreds of videos that push the boundaries of teaching design and development — as well as in ads, excerpts, and the Webflow University learning platform itself.
  
• Identify opportunities to streamline our motion workflow. Our teams are looking to take our motion graphics workflow to the next level. With that in mind, you’ll work closely with individuals and teams in design and production to help us identify and invest in opportunities that dramatically improve how we create compelling visuals.
  
• Push the boundaries of what’s possible. Our team enjoys a ton of experimental freedom, and we’re always looking for ways to improve, even when the method isn’t 100% proven. If an idea gets our users excited about learning, we’re interested in trying it. We love bold, aspirational, and sophisticated designs. If it makes someone do a double-take, let’s build it. We use stills, illustrations, scripted video, unscripted video, music with video, and clear graphics (plus a billion other things that won't fit here) to visually reinforce teaching. (And about a billion other things that won’t fit in this paragraph.)

That said, these responsibilities are just the start! At Webflow, we encourage you to contribute wherever your interests take you and shape your role accordingly. This isn’t just a philosophical bent: We actually give you 4 hours a week (10% of the work week) to pursue passion projects outside of your role responsibilities. 

About you 

You’ll thrive as a Senior Motion Designer if you:

• Have strong design sensibility with advanced graphic/animation-based technical skills, 
• Work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment.
• Are consistently motivated by handling increasingly complex projects.
• Are multi-disciplined within areas such as 3D modeling, texturing, rendering environments, compositing, and lighting to create exciting and innovative experiences in 3D for educational value.
• Are deeply familiar with Cinema 4D, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Nuke, Houdini, or other other illustration, animation, and compositing software. Bonus points if you love Keynote as much as we do.
• Are inspired to become the go-to person on our team in order to solve complex animation production challenges while delivering to deadlines.
• Have a superb sense of storytelling and rhythm and extraordinary attention to details.
• Share our passion for education, technology, and a moderate tolerance for puns in the workplace.
