Position Summary
The Senior Instructional Designer will work with the Learning Program Managers and the Talent Development team, as well as other key stakeholders in the business (e.g., Subject Matter Experts), to create and update learning content and digital adoption strategies and tactics to achieve the learning, technology adoption and business goals of the organization. This includes creating content in a variety of formats: web-based, e-learning, video, job aids, face-to-face instructor led training, virtual instructional led training, on the job checklists, guides, etc. This role will also interface with the Learning Technology team to ensure a positive learner experience in accessing content, and with external vendor partners who also provide content.
Key Responsibilities
* Create effective, engaging, digestible content using adult learning principles, best practices and learning innovations
* Create strategies and implement tactics to increase digital adoption of new systems, help employees effectively learn and apply system functionality and processes
* Provide effective performance consultation to the business to assess learning needs and solutions and work with Subject matter experts to ensure accurate content
* Communicate with key stakeholders, presenting ideas and data assessment results with logic and fact-based evidence to internal clients; proactively communicate and align on timelines and deliverables
* Identify when content curation is needed vs content creation
* Create effective learning content applying established instructional design methodology
* Partner with Learning Program Managers and Learning Delivery Specialists
* Manage learning projects that are outsourced to third party instructional design firms or content providers
* Partner with the business to identify existing and future digital adoption needs, working as a part of the implementation team
* Using knowledge of human behavior and change management, create holistic implementation plans for system roll-outs and upgrades
Requirements


* 3-5 years experience working in instructional design roles
* Expertise in instructional design, program and curricula development
* Knowledge of adult learning principles, learning best practices, learning technology and innovation
* Experience designing and delivering learning in a variety of modalities; experience with a variety of instructional design tools
* Experience with digital adoption
* Experience with a LMS and other learning technology
* Experience with video editing tools
* Strong collaboration, influence, and consulting skills
* Organized with strong time management and prioritization skills
* Strong communication skills
* Strong creative thinking abilities
* Ability to manage multiple projects with a strong focus on execution
