About the Team
You will be joining one of Workday's most exciting organizations, the Experience Design and Development Group (EDDG). As a cross-functional organization of 500 individuals, EDDG is responsible for elevating Workday's User Experience, and delivering products that more than 45 million users love. The world of work is changing, and we are at the forefront.
Workday enables millions of users - all types of workers from thousands of the world's largest companies to be more productive and collaborative helping them do their best work everyday. Our cloud-based SaaS suite of products are powerful and complex yet need to be intuitive and delightful whether doing quick tasks in the mobile app or deep work planning, executing, and analyzing within one of our desktop products. In 2021 and beyond, we will continue to improve our existing experiences while bringing new ones to market. The ideal candidate for the DCE (Digital Customer Engagement) UX Team is a thought-partner capable of making data-driven decisions to improve the quality and cohesion across the experience. You know how to solve hard problems and make the complex simple, collaborating with cross-functional teams to envision, design, and deliver high-quality experiences at scale.

About the role

We are seeking an inclusive designer to join our Inclusive Design team. The Workday Inclusive Design (iD) team's vision is to provide an equitable experience for everyone we serve.

You will act as a strategic thought partner (internal and external) on product design and inclusion. You will play a central role in the delivery of projects related to our team's vision. You will think broadly about inclusion and equity, and in context with the world. You believe and can live by our team values: Transparency & Non-Ambiguity, Beginner's Mindset, Impact Driven, Space for Critical & Contextual Thinking, and Accessible & Inclusive Team.

What you will do

  • Partner with the inclusive designers on the team to define the team's strategy, roadmap, and priorities.
  • Collaborate with product design teams at Workday and provide feedback and critique on accessibility and inclusion in designs.
  • Have the autonomy to explore, drive, and implement inclusive design programs.
  • Work on a variety of projects that leverage a diverse skill set including, but not limited to, design, research, workshop facilitation, product and team strategy.
  • Advocate to stakeholders and educate them on inclusive practices to bring them along on the journey.
  • Think about the impact of products on marginalized communities
  • Be an advocate for inclusion, equity, accessibility


About You

You Have

  • A passion and interest for inclusive design, equity and ethics
  • An constantly curious open mind: always looking to learn and grow
  • A vigilant awareness of the constantly changing world (social, political, economic, public health, etc.)
  • Compassion, understanding, and empathy for our teammates-mental and physical wellbeing is a priority
  • A capacity to give and receive critical feedback
  • Experience working on digital product teams and/or in an advocacy space (political or social organizing)
