Overview

The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for the development of effective, high-impact designs, illustrations, and special publications that communicate GM Financial's key-messages to targeted audiences including both current and prospective dealers, customers and employees. The team member is also responsible for development of graphics and creative solutions to enhance the effectiveness and impact of GM Financial's internal and external communications. The team member will work on all forms of deliverables with an emphasis on digital marketing materials.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

  • Manage the creation and delivery of select marketing communication programs to ensure they are delivered on time and meet, or exceed, the expectations of our business partners
  • Develop high-impact advertising, sales promotion and recruiting materials using a combination of print, electronic, and web resources
  • Create and implement effective designs for print and online publications and marketing materials
  • Develop and maintain resources and materials that educate or aid in the recruitment and retention of company team members
  • Develop effective digital marketing communications delivered to customers
  • Strengthen the GM Financial brand through consistent quality and appearance
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of an effective graphic standards program
  • Participate in collaborative brainstorming sessions with fellow creative team members and business partners with original ideas as well as those that build on current campaigns that result in multi-channel design solutions that align with strategies, initiatives and projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Experience in advertising, mass communication or related discipline
  • Must have an advanced understanding of advertising art theory and practice
  • Proficient understanding of corporate branding with the ability to design within an established system of brand guidelines
  • Thorough knowledge of digital and/or print pre-production
  • Basic understanding of best practices and design conventions for digital desktop and mobile experiences
  • Knowledge of industry trends and ability to incorporate these trends in developed work


Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven artistic, design, and project management skills
  • Demonstrated creative experience - knowing how to take an idea from concept to execution
  • Proficiency with relevant design related applications within the Adobe Creative Cloud environment, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat
  • Additionally, must work comfortably within Microsoft Office
  • Current on social media sites, apps, and trends (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc) and the ability to design digital assets for corporate social pages and posts
  • Working knowledge of HTML, basic web development Experience with Litmus a plus
  • Ability to communicate design concepts through sketching, drawing, or use of mood boards
  • Digital photography experience a plus
  • Comfortable presenting new concepts and final deliverables to business partners
  • Must be able to work seamlessly with customers, executives, vendors and team members
  • Experience with project management tools such as Workfront (AtTask) or similar a plus


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience required


Experience

  • Greater than 10 years of advertising art experience, preferably in an agency or corporate environment required


Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment
  • Position may include a small amount of travel and some overtime
