Job Summary

The Senior Graphic Designer contributes to the success of marketing initiatives for our internal partners, external audiences, and new business opportunities. This position is responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and implementing branded sales and communication materials and serves as a brand steward and focus on design execution for layouts and production. The Senior Graphic Designer provides creative direction and oversight on print & digital media deliverables; experience with motion/video editing and/or production is desired. Other duties of the role include (but are not limited to): layout revisions; creating mock-ups; developing presentation materials; and working closely with Design Leads, Senior Managers, and other marketing partners to create communication materials. The Senior Designer is tasked with leading various projects, and assists the Design Lead and/or Senior Manager to coach other graphic designers through the development of concepts, comps, layouts, and final art.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions 

 

Create and Design:  Creates innovative design solutions — understands brand hallmarks, identity and brand guidelines. Executes both print and digital design requests on smaller independent projects as well as work in support of large-scale projects. Explores solutions that are grounded in creative strategy. Contributes to creative concepts on behalf of independent projects as well as in support of the Creative Communications team. As a brand steward, maintains company brand standards and advances/evolves them as needed. Leads creative conception to develop design solutions in response to business needs. Spearhead graphic design projects of significant size, contributing both design execution as well as integrating the work of supporting designers. Current on trends in design, typography, and advertising design. 

Creative Strategy: Responsible for partnering with internal clients, understanding business needs, and ensuring that design solutions are rooted in effective creative strategy. This individual is a strategic creative thinker and provides both strategy and creative design recommendations. Coordinates the production of designed pieces in support of the Creative Communications team. Works on individual requests as well as larger group initiatives. As an SME within the organization, this individual will likely have a more focused design concentration (Brand identity, Package design, motion/video, UI/UX) 

Project Management: Possesses strong project management/interpersonal skill. Follows processes and utilizes tools on behalf of the Creative Communications team. Understands the importance of budgets, timeline management, project tracking and multitasking multiple requests, while delivering innovative design solutions. Works closely with account partners on all aspects of the project; from concept through production.  Utilizes knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams to execute daily work. 

 

(Distinction) Motion: For motion design requests, this individual is proficient in Adobe After effects and Premiere, (or similar) responsible for the creation of storyboards and motion content development, working with writers and visual designers to select appropriate audio, VO, graphic and animation styles for each request. Current on trends in visual design and animation as well as new technologies and techniques, contemporary trends and popular music to deliver cutting edge work. 

 

 

Reports to: Manager/Senior Manager Creative Communications 

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements: Normal office environment, some travel may be required.  

Direct Reports: None 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

Three or more years design work in either a corporate or an agency setting

Portfolio reflecting applicable design experience.

 

Preferred Experience: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Web Design, UI/UX 

 

Five or more years design work on either client or agency side and across channels

Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
