About the Role:  

Chief is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Product Design & User Research. In this role, you will own Chief’s UX function and lead our Product Design & Research teams. You will be responsible for owning the design & research strategy across our portfolio of products. This is inherently a cross-functional role — you will work closely with product management, engineering, brand and marketing to ensure that we build intuitive and elegant end-to-end user experiences. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, nurture and grow an exceptional team of Product Designers & User Researchers
  • Influence product direction and align the organization by clearly and confidently presenting complex concepts and design strategy 
  • Provide leadership and design direction within your team and across the organization with clear rationale for design decisions
  • Own the full design & research process leading to deliverables that are on-time, detailed, and polished
  • Drive the evolution of our design & research tools and processes across Chief that will drive efficiency as well as impactful results 
  • Ability to roll up your sleeves and design or conduct research, as needed 

What We're Looking For:

  • An experienced designer and product leader with a track record of designing elegant and intuitive experiences
  • A strong people manager with experience leading and building UX teams 
  • Recent experience in a product development setting within a consumer tech and software company
  • A portfolio of relevant UX Design work and/or case studies, executed either by yourself or a team that you led, that showcases an ability to deliver highly usable and deep experiences consistently 
  • Demonstrated ability to ruthlessly prioritize and build processes that scale 
  • Ability to foster a data and research-driven culture in support of a fast-paced, holistic approach to product development 
  • Ability to align leaders across the organization and produce design outcomes that get thumbs up from users and stakeholders alike
  • Experience leading collaborative projects that span multiple teams and disciplines  
  • Proven success in a fast-paced environment with resilience in the face of evolving priorities 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
