As an experienced Senior Designer you'll work closely with product managers, content strategists, UI designers, developers and researchers to create an elegant customer experiences that support our training and learning experiences. As a creator of bar-raising experiences, you inherently look for ways to remove the difficult and make complex experiences feel easy, intuitive and have a seamless flow that helps our customers feel empowered. You confidently make - and defend decisions while creating user-centered online experiences in an agile environment.

About the Role

As a Senior Designer, you will:

  • Optimize Experiences - Leverage quantitative and qualitative data, review user studies, and conduct heuristic reviews to identify opportunities for optimization and UX improvements in order to increase the performance of key KPIs.
  • Create and Build - Rapidly iterate through journey maps, storyboards, user flows, sketches, wireframes, and other design artifacts to effectively communicate interaction and a dynamic content strategy. Have an expert-level knowledge of responsive UI design methodology and processes (user-centered and iterative design). Create prototypes for UX research testing (Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Be Part of a Collaborative Team - Work closely with the UX Director, Lead Content Strategist, and Lead Designer in a collaborative team-oriented environment, where we share information, value diverse ideas, and partner with cross functional and remote teams. Work alongside information architects, developers, researchers and subject matter experts to create new products, features and functionality. Advocate for the user's needs and collaborate with the Product Manager to develop features that align to the needs of the user.
  • Be an Effective Communicator - articulate complex technical issues, and share ideas, participate in peer-reviews, and exhibit strong listening skills. Justify and articulate design decisions during design reviews. Lead and facilitate brainstorming and sketching sessions with product teams. Be an effective advocate for the user and be able to successfully lead the implementation of feature-sets and interactions that provide an excellent customer experience. Prepare UX documentation to be used by the development team.
  • Be Curious & Innovative - continuously update yourself with next generation user experiences, technology, and contribute to process development practices. Turn user research and usability feedback into easy-to-use solutions. Gather, analyze and synthesize UX needs for complex product and user requirements.


About You

You're a fit for the role of Senior Designer if you have:

Basic qualifications:

  • 8+ years design experience creating simple solutions for complex challenges
  • Proficiency in responsive design
  • Proficiency in prototyping tools: Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Proficiency in A/B testing
  • Strong portfolio of work that illustrates your process, your level of craft and the results you have driven
  • Familiarity with Agile development
  • Confidence in working with strong, passionate, fast-paced team environment
  • Strong time-management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Preferred qualifications:

  • BA/BS in graphic design, fine art, visual communications, HCI or related field (or equivalent industry training / experience)
  • Familiarity with: Web standards (W3C and 508) / best practices for interaction design and Accessibility
