WHAT’S A SENIOR DESIGNER AT HOOK?

Senior Designers are experienced leaders that expertly use design to exceed client goals while working within the guard rails of existing branding and marketing strategies. They operate alongside creative teams to produce industry-leading advertising content across all mediums. While their performance is often directly measured by the quality of the work they produce, Senior Designers understand that it’s ultimately their ability to coach and develop fellow design talent that drives long term success. They are design fundamentalists, but approach projects with rational and innovative ideas, always mindful of how it looks and how it works.

The daily challenges range from overseeing (and guaranteeing) tactical design executions to directly leading conceptual design challenges for national and global brands/campaigns. Senior Designers are ready for hands-on projects at every stage of the life cycle, from brainstorming and developing creative campaigns with the project team to participating in client presentations and ensuring deadlines are met, all the way to launch.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Inspire and provide mentorship to Designers and Junior Design staff toward the goal of accelerating skill progression through a culture of collaboration, abstract thinking and knowledge sharing.
  • Work with Creative and Design Directors to ensure design work is conceptually sound, technically excellent, and solves marketing briefs.

  • Inspire a positive creative culture that elevates the standards and quality of all work achieved by the Design department.
  • Demonstrate an ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time while maintaining clear vision of priorities, overseeing a team of designers, and making sure everything is pixel perfect before facing the client.
  • Lead by example to become the overall cultural/team leader.
  • Facilitate and inspire each employee's day-to-day growth.
  • Maintain and promote an internal awareness of industry design trends and standards with a strong focus on processes and tools.

  • Participate in high-level discussions with clients rooted in a strong point of view.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • A strong background with high-profile design work that shows imaginative, forward-thinking ideas.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Generate and maintain enthusiasm for ideas within the agency as they move from concept to execution and delivery.
