Job Description:
The Opportunity:
Pluralsight has been working hard to deliver results for our customers through our product development teams. We're ready to take this effort to the next level and are looking for a skilled leader who will broaden user research proficiency and excellence across Pluralsight's products. The Research Ops Principal will create and implement the vision and strategy for User Research at Pluralsight in partnership with other peers in the organization. This individual will be a strategic and operational leader that builds and nurtures relationships across the organization.
Research Ops at Pluralsight is focused on leading and operationalizing the processes, tools, principles, and standard methodologies that holistically support effectiveness, efficiency, quality, consistency and repeatability in user research at Pluralsight.
As a Research Ops Principal, you will play an important role in our efforts to uphold high governance standards, to create opportunities for collaboration throughout the research process, and to track the impact research has on our digital products and the experiences they create for our customers.
You have:

  • A proven track record of successfully leading operationally sophisticated research projects with cross-functional, distributed teams
  • Experience advocating for user research as a key driver of efficiency and business results
  • Demonstrable experience in structuring and implementing research initiatives with design and product teams
  • Experience creating lean and scalable workflows and implementing process improvements
  • A deep knowledge of and appreciation for Product Design, user research, and engineering practices and processes and how to support them
  • Ability to balance long-term critical thinking and near-term execution
  • Motivation to continuously seek opportunities to create efficiencies and are passionate and enthusiastic about organizational excellence


What you will own:

  • You'll own operational aspects of the user research process
  • Develop, standardize and maintain UX research methods and supporting documentation, including a single internal repository, training materials, standard methodologies, playbooks, and commonly used resources
  • Work with UX research and design leadership to identify team needs (process, tools, learning and development needs, etc.), make recommendations for improvement, and assist with the planning and execution of related projects
  • Mentor UX researchers, product designers and product managers in crafting research studies, taking care to understand the research goals, constraints, and country-specific considerations in order to realize the most effective outcomes possible
  • Partner with UX researchers, product designers and product managers to develop a communications strategy for keeping collaborators and teams better informed, synthesizing and sharing research findings and success stories to elevate awareness and impact of research at Pluralsight
  • Ensuring research ethics are understood and upheld by individual researchers across studies
