Overview
Leveraging your print and digital design experience, you will oversee the creation of engaging content that genuinely resonates with our customers. You will captivate Mixbook customers to create and connect and empower our customers to tell their own stories and be creative.
Location
This is a US-based remote role with at least quarterly travel to the San Francisco Bay Area. Ability to work in PST is highly preferred.
Job Description
As a Production Designer at Mixbook, you’ll support our Design Manager throughout the creation process of our theme designs. You'll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the development of Mixbook’s various designs and physical products.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with the Design Manager and designers to ensure consistency in quality of work, providing feedback when needed on typography and layout designs
- End-to-end production workflow of theme designs
- Manage multiple projects to meet timelines and due dates
- Manage all design assets for internal products, tagging items, and ultimately publishing products on the Mixbook site (and troubleshooting as needed)
- Source stock photography and manage organization of new and existing stock photography
- Implement new layouts into our editor
- Update and refresh existing Mixbook products (new fonts, new photos, fixing broken layouts etc.)
- Create and review alternate formats of designs (landscape and portrait)
- Serve as expert in resolving issues that arise concerning our design assets
- Ordering and proofing of all physical products to check for color consistency, spacing, resolution, layouts, photos, etc.
- Support creative team in creation and ordering of products for photoshoots
What You’ll Need
- 4+ years of production design experience
- Working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
- Previous experience working in digital asset management tools (such as Bynder, Adobe, etc.)
- Experience with project management software (e.g. Hive, Basecamp, Asana, etc.)
- Knowledge of design terms and patterns for tagging - ex. herringbone, watercolor, checkered etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems with typography, layout and design
- Working knowledge of Sketch and/or Figma nice to have but not required
- Strong attention to detail, including top-notch organizing and multitasking skills to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize accordingly
- Communication skills, including the ability to empathize with vastly different cross-functional teams from sales to marketing
