Who We Are
Instil is ambitiously working to reimagine technology for nonprofits. Empathy is at the core of how we approach building our product for the nonprofits we serve. Instil's design team is central to how that empathy is coordinated and expressed. We're a highly collaborative organization, where the various departments - to include customer success, product development, marketing, sales, etc - all work very closely with one another.
We are searching for a Product Designer who is ambitious, pragmatic, proactive, thoughtful, and collaborative. Designers serve a vital role here: from identifying and understanding the problems our users face, to the craft and finish of every detail in the product. They are designing the future of Instil. We appreciate people who think deeply, speak clearly, love collaboration, and don't take themselves too seriously.
Salary range for the role is 110-130k with an annual performance based bonus. We also offer competitive equity and benefits.
Remote US Only

An Insider's view of Instil

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

The culture at Instil embodies the phrase "work-life-balance" in a way I haven't comfortably experienced elsewhere. The underlying trust in our coworkers and ourselves that we'll get the work done when/where is practical means that I can choose to log off work early and hang out with my toddler without feeling that I'm shirking my responsibilities.

UI Engineer

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

Effective collaboration is rooted in genuine common ground between collaborators. It’s not possible without showing up authentically in our needs, opinions, motivations, challenges, and goals. Because people at Instil value vulnerability, I can easily spot opportunities to support others, receive support, and connect folks with shared goals!

Demand Generation Manager

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

Coming from running a recruiting agency, I was pretty scared to go in-house. Growing an internal team is a huge shift. Reporting to our COO, I've never felt so supported, trusted, or safe in a role. Before joining, I didn't have much imagination about my future beyond sourcing. Lately I feel almost overwhelmed by the possibilities in front of me.

Head of Talent

What unique initiatives do you have that encourage innovation?

Every team member has a voice in our vision and direction. Every start-up company has to be agile and change with the team, market, and customer, especially when a company is trying to disrupt a market. At Instil, we expect our team members to bring bold, big ideas to the table to influence our vision. No matter what role you are in.

Kirsten Helvey

Co-Founder and CEO

What makes someone successful on your team?

We have a diverse mix of voices that leads to better collaboration, decisions, and experience design outcomes. The ability for each of us to be 100% our authentic selves creates a great work environment.
