Job Description

A UX designer II is responsible for the overall feel and functionality of a product. They utilize product analysis and consumer research to create user-friendly designs. Drawing on their knowledge of industry trends in design and technology, they adapt and focus product strategies to facilitate positive and intuitive user experiences.

Essential Functions:

  • Create activity flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design mock-ups with minor guidance
  • Create usability studies on a variety of projects and product features
  • Interact with customers to review and validate workflows and designs
  • Collaborate with Product Management stakeholders on creating user stories to define development tasks
  • Analyze user interface problems and requirements to create on-brand design solutions that meet business goals and conform to established standards/guidelines
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to effectively negotiate trade-offs with product management and engineering
  • In coordination with the User Experience Leadership, train and mentor Jr. UX Designers 


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ year’s formal UX design training and portfolio.
  • Has a strong understanding of the vision and key objectives for their product area, taking cues from their design manager, as well as their product and engineering leads. Consistently considers how their designs can support that vision, the team's goals, the broader product vision and company objectives.
  • Demonstrate time/priority management, planning own work executing against assigned deadlines while maximizing efficiency in the agile process
  • Convey inherent curiosity, empathy for end users, and a passion for user experience that delights stakeholders
  • Contributed to a couple of shipped projects
  • Advanced knowledge of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
  • Advanced knowledge of web, desktop, and mobile technologies
  • Deliver design work on programs of any size with minimal oversight
  • Proficiency with current software packages used in the field of UX such as, but not limited to: Figma, Miro, Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Cloud etc.
  • Communicate comfortably and effectively with external users and internal teams
  • Intermediate design competency through sketching, concept creation and wire framing, producing sitemaps and user flows, creating clickable prototypes
  • Ability to deliver appropriate level of specification needed to ensure high quality development on time
  • Proficient with MS Office, JIRA, Trello, Confluence, etc.

  • Occasional exceptional hours as needed to meet deadlines.
