About the Role: 
As a Product Designer at PitchBook, you will be a true advocate for our users in the creation of powerful data and analysis tools to support complex workflows. You will own the design process from brainstorming, to launch. You will be responsible for the user interface, information architecture, user research and interaction and visual design of your feature area. We are a fast-growing organization, and this role will need to design for and understand the motivations, interests and needs of diverse user groups
The Product Design team's mission is to design the most accurate, relevant and rich experiences that best inform the financial decisions shaping our global economy. We dig deep into solving our customers' problems and surface insights they didn't even know they needed. In all our work we strive to be collaborative, supportive, open-minded and empathetic to customers and each other.
Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for design, explore big ideas before concentrating on workable and ingenious solutions
  • Design products that make complex tasks and workflows simple and easy to understand for all customers
  • Understand industry standards and identify customer needs, behaviors and motivations
  • Build consensus using deliverables throughout every stage of the design process: wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes and pixel-perfect visual assets
  • Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design and design rationale both verbally and visually with all stakeholders – both in & outside of design 
  • Partner with Product Managers throughout the lifecycle of a project to solidify requirements and specifications and ensure successful handoff to engineering
  • Work with engineering to ensure all designs are constructed as intended
  • Monitor how your experiences perform and plan for how we can iterate and improve them

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a UX Designer or Product Designer in addition to internships and/or a UX Certification programs 
  • Experience working through design projects from discovery to development
  • An outstanding portfolio showcasing visual and interaction design working together to create great user experiences
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects
  • Strong analytical skills, use qualitative and quantitative data to guide design decisions
  • Ability to articulate design rationale and how we can add value to the product
  • Humility, enthusiasm and a curious mind plus a focus on building long-term cross-functional, collaborative relationships
