Role Description

As a Product Designer at Dropbox, you’ll tackle complex problems that will transform the way people work. You’ll collaborate with like minded designers, engineers and product managers to define product strategy and find inspiring ways to delight our users around the world. We’re looking for curious and inventive full stack product designers to create end-to-end experiences - from identifying and understanding pain points to owning the craft and finish of every detail in the product. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead design work across two teams—Machine Learning/Intelligence and Platform Frontiers—to identify which use cases and opportunities are best to deliver the greatest value to our users. Dropbox cannot fulfill our mission of enabling an enlightened way of work without investing in technologies that deliver an exceptional experience to our users at scale — Machine Learning/Intelligence and Platform Frontiers are critical parts of that investment. You will collaborate with world class Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, User Researchers, and Analysts as well as teams from across Dropbox to drive innovation.

Responsibilities

  • You will identify new opportunities to improve products for users and drive impact through ML/Intelligence
  • You will evaluate products across Dropbox and hold the standard for how smart a solution should be
  • You will maintain a solid understanding of in-flight projects and features across Dropbox and are internal champions for adoption of smart capabilities
  • You will help power a rich ecosystem around Dropbox at the intersection of internal teams, external developers, and end-users
  • You will be at the forefront of improving Dropbox’s multi-product platform by building innovative experiences and speculative new platform capabilities

Requirements

  • 9+ yrs experience in UX/Product Design
  • A self-starter who loves highly complex, fast paced challenges
  • A designer who is quick on their feet and ready to jump into fast moving products
  • A designer who thrives in ambiguity and prefers an entrepreneurial style of approaching work
  • A designer who’s team collaboration skills are unparalleled.
  • You thrive in an environment with short feedback loops.
  • You excel in divergent and generative thinking and are able to generate lots of ideas quickly.

Additional Perks + Benefits

In order to be successful in our Virtual First environment we needed to make changes that would allow employees to have more control over both where and how they work. Therefore, we embrace “non-linear workdays” with defined core collaboration hours that overlap across time zones. Beyond that, we encourage employees to design their own schedules to balance collaboration with needs for individual focus. We’ve also moved from “all day syncs” to an “async by default” culture, reserving meetings for discussion, debate, and decision-making, and handling all other work in our deep focus hours.
