The OPTUM Consumer Experience Team is seeking a User Experience (UX) Designer who is equally comfortable with information architecture, interaction design and UI design. The Principal User Experience (UX) Architect will be responsible for defining and delivering consumer-facing class-leading digital experiences from user insight, concept, all the way through execution. The person who fills this role will be equally comfortable as a doer and as a leader.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Translate abstract concepts into simple, elegant, and innovative designs expressed in sketches, diagrams, and prototypes across all breakpoints
  • Consider user needs, business objectives, technical feasibility, and brand to build state-of-the-art digital experiences
  • Lead teams through research, concepting, prototyping, UX/UI, and testing of experiences
  • Develop solid relationships and work across product, marketing, design, development, and operational resources
  • Manage internal and external agency partners to enable scale across tactical augmentation and strategic UX/UI support needs
  • Foster Optum's culture and principles while staying at the forefront of new consumer trends, technologies, and tools
  • Build expectations and maintain high standards of quality across the team by driving craftmanship and seeking excellence
  • You will be required to submit a portfolio of your Graphic Design work that demonstrates cross-channel and user-centered design expertise that evidences stylistic breadth. Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of digital UX design experience with a portfolio demonstrating cross-channel and user-centered design expertise that evidences stylistic breadth and technical competence
  • Experience with human-centered design
  • Experience delivering formal and informal presentations to influence and win support from team members across the organization
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, matrix environment requiring flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite and Figma design tools
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading and facilitating co-creation and innovation workshops
  • Experience working with complex, enterprise-level user-facing and internal systems, including CMS, commerce, device integration, search and social
  • Experience working in a start-up environment
  • Advanced motion graphic skills
  • Understanding of designing for accessibility standards WCAG/508

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $113,500 to $218,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $113,500 to $218,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
