About the job
The Red Hat Cloud Platforms Business team is looking for a Senior User Experience Designer to join our growing team focused on Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes. In this role, you will work with our product management and engineering teams to create and deliver new interfaces, workflows, and design systems for the industry's leading Kubernetes-native security solution. You will actively contribute to the end-to-end user experience from onboarding to usage, interaction design, user research, and information architecture. You will fit right in if you enjoy solving challenging technical problems at the intersection of design and usability. As a Senior User Experience Designer, you will engage with relevant stakeholders and the design community across Red Hat. This is a great opportunity to work on a fast-growing offering alongside some of the brightest minds in the cloud-native ecosystem. What you will do

  • Create mockups, wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and other design deliverables across the entire user experience with a special focus on particular use cases
  • Work with a team of product managers, engineers, and researchers to develop and deliver new user experiences and workflows
  • Perform and participate in planning user research to inform or validate design decisions
  • Contribute to the information architecture that impacts the overall user experience
  • Develop user stories, story maps, and site maps
  • Identify opportunities for usability improvement, conduct testing, and make recommendations
  • Actively use and contribute to PatternFly, Red Hat's community-built design system
  • Mentor and provide feedback to fellow designers


What you will bring

  • 5+ years of experience designing user experiences for software applications
  • Demonstrated record of leading creation of new designs, interactions, and workflows
  • Ability to incorporate data from user research and usability testing to inform key design decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate on cross-functional teams
  • High attention to detail and solid ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Bachelor's or graduate degree, preferably in interaction design, visual design, human computer interaction, computer science, or a related discipline
  • Experience with modern design tooling and systems, e.g., InVision, Framer, Sketch, etc., is a plus
  • Familiarity with frontend software development and best practices is a plus
