Job Summary

As a Principal Learning Experience Designer, you have an extensive portfolio of digital learning products that have solved real business and customer problems. As a lead, you will create product-focused, innovative learning solutions for our customers and partners. You will apply your deep expertise in instructional design, adult learning, and digital learning tools to create content through all project phases: planning, design, development, and delivery. In our fast-paced environment, you must be comfortable working on multiple projects across various stakeholder groups.

Roles and Responsibility (list in order of importance)

- Strategizes and leads curriculum development projects, including eLearning, video-on-demand, instructor-led, and certification

- Identifies and creates training solutions that support the business strategy, as well as the product and curriculum roadmaps in a scalable manner

- Leverage adult learning principles with instructional methodologies and techniques to design and develop creative, interactive, learner-centered, performance-based training solutions

- Create and maintain various product training and certification content, such as eLearning courses, videos, vILT/ILT, voice-overs, simulations, facilitator/participant activity guides, exams/assessments, and job aids

- Consult with stakeholders and subject matter experts to define learning objectives and modalities to ensure the impact can be measured and is linked to business goals

- Partner with technical subject matter experts to capture course-specific knowledge and verify that developed content is accurate

- Acts as a go-to person in the department and are viewed positively by peers cross-functionally

- Determine the tasks, skills, level of effort, and advanced learning strategies required to meet the audience's learning needs

- Follow and maintain formal project plans and tracking systems for each project in development and adhere to deadlines, including managing your projects from concept to release in conjunction with Training Leadership

- Demonstrate a high level of writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting training materials

- Ensure the final project deliverables are of the highest quality and positively impact learning outcomes

- Review existing courses for relevancy, quality, and consistency and work with subject matter experts to implement revisions or updates as appropriate

- Review team members' work and provide feedback to ensure the highest deliverable(s) quality

- Mentor team members to build instructional design skills, writing skills, visual design skills, software skills (related to the production of virtual assets)

- Conduct knowledge transfer activities to ramp and mentor other team members

- Develop and implement new models and design templates, ensuring the best experience for the learner

- Develop templates and additional tools that will assist in reducing development time as well as create a consistent look and feel of materials presented to stakeholders

- Drives improvements to existing CD tools and technologies for learning

- Tests new training technologies and provide input

- Monitor industry trends and present recommendations for on-demand education, including topics of interest and delivery methods

- Represent the Training team at key customer events, including user conferences, etc

- On occasion, deliver content (across multiple product lines) to different audiences via classroom (public, onsite), virtual classroom, and recorded formats

- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Years of Experience in Related Field: At least 15 years of experience in technical instructional design and evaluation or delivering technical training virtually and onsite in a corporate environment

Education: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent work experience

Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Experience using tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, Captivate, Microsoft PowerPoint to develop content

- Expertise in adult learning theory

- Expertise with training tools and technologies

- Experience delivering virtual training with MS Teams, WebEx, or similar applications

Other:

- Ability to conceptualize and present technical concepts clearly and concisely

- Lead, prioritize, and balance multiple ongoing projects and adhere to project schedules.

- Flexible and able to positively collaborate with cross-functional teams

- Adaptable with the ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change

- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including presenting in front of groups

- Willingness to learn new things

- Experience in eLearning and ILT course design, storyboarding, student and instructor guides, lab exercises, and job aids

- A continuous development mentality to explore new technologies, capabilities, and methods for effective adult training

- Creative and innovative with a desire to continually improve processes

- Commitment to high-quality training materials that adhere to Curriculum Development standards, best practices, and processes

- Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite

- Understand SaaS implementation methodology and training touchpoints

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in a professional services organization, support, or training

- Experience using Smartsheet or similar project management software

- Accounting/financial background or understanding of these concepts

- Experience with BlackLine or other financial systems such as Hyperion, etc

- Multilingual speakers are encouraged to apply

Work is primarily sedentary; no special demands are required

May require up to 25% overnight trave
