The Principal Experience Designer (XD) delivers business objectives through the creation of superior user experiences for Truist clients, prospects, and employees with leadership and strategy responsibilities that cross multiple teams.

The Experience Designer develops solutions within assigned business segments and across multiple channels (digital, in-branch, call center, etc) to create a competitive advantage in client experience - a key evaluation criterion for our clients and critical to the success of products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Help develop an experience strategy for building next generation of our commercial digital banking products
  • Develop a deep understanding of your users through tests of your prototype designs, user needs analyses, platform utilization analysis, and working closely with SME's and UX Researchers
  • Understand user needs, business requirements and technology capabilities
  • Lead design activities in cross-functional development teams to create highly usable, engaging designs and experiences
  • Design and deliver user journeys, wireframes, conceptual designs, and interactive prototypes across a variety of devices and interfaces.
  • Iterate those designs through testing with end users to ensure success once developed
  • Influence style guides and global page templates, and contribute to / influence our Design System
  • You'll also follow how the industry is transforming, looking for UX best practices that develop and identify critical trends that Truist needs to stay ahead of
  • You'll combine all this knowledge to help create a vision of the product's evolution over the next few years, and work with your team to bring that about
  • Apply and evangelize strategic thinking and creative problem-framing approaches.
  • Develop a deep understanding of broader organizational context and goals.
  • Use storytelling and persuasion techniques that build trust with partners and establish long-term relationships.


Required Qualifications:

  • Someone with a history of positively influencing product direction and design through a deep understanding of users and design principles
  • The ability to identify the need and outline the goals of user research that will influence strategy and product design
  • Can process and analyze multiple perspectives, inputs, and constraints, generate multiple design options and provide understandable rationale for decisions
  • BA/BS degree in human-computer interaction (HCI), user experience, human factors, interaction design, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Solid skills in the use of one or more wireframing/prototyping tools
  • Understanding of site functionality, interactions, site architecture, & navigation.
  • Experience designing for web and/or mobile applications
  • Ability to manage own workload and deliverable schedules within constraints of product team needs.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage several workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills. Comfortable presenting


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in human-computer interaction (HCI), user experience, human factors, interaction design, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Solid understanding of HTML/CSS and visual (UI) design. Experience working with a design system
  • Experience working on Agile projects
  • Understanding of World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and how they relate to design
  • Experience working in financial services
