Motion Designer
As our first Motion Designer, you’ll be responsible for bringing one-of-a-kind motion video ideas to life, highlighting our brand, product, and customers, with the goal of generating brand awareness, traffic, and conversions. You’ll be the owner of our motion graphics content. This role will join a growing Brand team and be coached by the Creative & Brand Director.
Within 1 month, you will:
- Experience a comprehensive onboarding that includes a deep dive into our teams, culture, and product.
- Get to know the rest of the brand, content, and marketing teams, our brand voice, strategic narratives, design guidelines and systems, and brand ambition.
- Understand our market and business needs.
- Deliver your first motion animation.
Within 3 months, you will:
- Bring your point of view to the team.
- Turn brand narratives into motion campaigns across various channels.
- Work with the rest of the brand and marketing team to define our motion deliverables calendar.
- Manage the day-to-day operations and outputs of motion graphics projects.
Within 6 months, you will:
- Be responsible for all content assets design.
- Bring new creative concepts to our motion work to elevate our brand reach and messaging.
Within 12 months, you will:
- Be independent and autonomous to validate assets.
- Propose and improve new motion design elements/assets with the team.
The Skills Set
- 3-5+ years experience as a 2D motion graphic artist or related position (ideally B2B) with a portfolio demonstrating your skills.
- Passion for storytelling, with an eye for detail and a blend of creative and technical production skills.
- Experience in developing and executing motion design work all the way through execution—having an advanced understanding of what makes content visually engaging and exciting, from visual techniques to the construct of storytelling.
- Fluency across graphic design, typography, photography, motion, and illustration.
- Strong conceptual thinker—designers are expected to not just execute ideas but also be a part of the initial creative process.
- Excellent communicator and ability to design and articulate your concepts in a clear, concise manner.
- Ability to receive and interpret feedback from a cross-functional team, often asynchronously.
- Superior time management skills.
- Understanding of visual design elements, color, and composition.
- Detail-oriented. Ability to deliver a polished product under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
- Intimate knowledge of industry tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects), Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender, Premier, and Final Cut Pro.
- Must be dependable, positive, open-minded, and be able to clearly communicate both verbally and visually.
