Anduril’s Manufacturing Team is seeking a Hardware Designer to join our team. The Manufacturing team is responsible for all hardware that Anduril builds, internally and externally.
As Hardware Designer you will own the Engineering Documentation, as well as mechanical drafting for one or more hardware products at Anduril. Responsibilities will span design and design documentation of both Electrical and Mechanical parts, together in assemblies. The right person for this role has deep understanding of CAD systems, BOM management, Product Lifecycle Management system use/administration, and a demonstrated ability to quickly design complex hardware systems in a resource-constrained environment. WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Create electrical and mechanical CAD models for one or multiple of Anduril’s hardware product lines, generating novel designs from scratch independently, with input from analysts and engineers
- Review and incorporate industrial design input, producing multiple aesthetic variations of products for selection and refinement
- Own ongoing maintenance and design changes on existing hardware products, including documentation of changes
- Create and maintain detailed Bills of Materials for a set of hardware products, Engineering Change Notice documentation, and traceability of design changes from initial prototype to ongoing production
- Actively participate in standing up the Product Lifecycle framework, from engineering design release workflows, to data models on parts, to assisting in developing business tool automation driven by engineering releases
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-4 years experience with detailed CAD drafting of complex mechanical systems, including structures, mechanisms, fluid systems, and electromechanical system
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment where products are manufactured at scale
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes including metal molding, forming, joining, and machining, complex assembly, additive manufacturing, wire harness fabrication, and printed circuit board fabrication
- 1-3 years experience maintaining and building a Product Lifecycle Management system, adding functionality, and playing the role of ‘subject matter expert’ for the team/company
- Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior use of numerical analysis tools such as Finite Element Modeling & Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Preference for Siemens NX & Teamcenter-specific experience
- Prior experience using Altium
