UX Design Manager

Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced and result-driven Manager, UX Design to lead a team of designers working on our Bidding and Risk Management tools in the Autodesk Construction Cloud ecosystem. You will collaborate with your Product Management and Engineering partners to shape the strategic direction of tools that are enabling our customers to efficiently and safely build the world around us.

Success in this role requires strong design leadership, ability to drive alignment with cross-functional partners/teams, actively championing our vision through strong data-driven storytelling and a proactive desire to connect with others to drive collaboration.

This position can be based in the United States or Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coach a User Experience Design team covering several product areas
  • Leading by example, creating a sense of energy and accountability to the work.
  • Work with Product Managers and Engineering leads to contribute to product planning and feature definition, leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to help drive informed decision-making



  • Mix hands-on design skills with leadership prowess, working across functions, leading by example and advocating for great UX design as a driver of business success
  • Help the team balance tactical and strategic priorities, ensuring that design, prototyping and user feedback are consistently used to maximum impact in the development process
  • Accountable for the quality, consistency, and delivery of the design team
  • Work with the global ACS (Autodesk Construction Solutions) Experience Design teams to drive for a cohesive customer experience
  • Generate, communicate, and evangelize insights, designs and visions to project teams and senior leadership



Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional design experience
  • 3+ years user experience team management experience
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas to their essence
  • Demonstrated success with leadership, cross-functional partnership and collaboration
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and build consensus
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and facilitation skills.



  • Comfortable in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders, can adjust to changing priorities
  • Skilled in human-centered design methods and practice with a high value for advocating customer-centric experiences
  • Experience in design with an understanding of task analysis, experience mapping, low-fidelity prototyping, user testing and more. And you know how to choose the right tool at the right time to drive results
  • Strong grasp of design systems and what's needed to design at scale with a systematic approach to design that drives both quality and efficiency
  • Experience as a 'player-coach' balancing hands on design work and leadership to contribute your awesome design skills to the team and their projects
  • Demonstrated experience in research - interviews, ethnography, user testing, etc.
  • Quality portfolio of recent professional XD project or management work



Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience
