In this role you’ll lead a learning design and delivery team to create and deliver effective learning solutions that enable job success across Toast’s Customer Success teams. You will evaluate and measure the success of existing learning solutions, recommend and guide improvements, and develop your team to build the necessary skills required to provide scalable, effective outcomes. You will partner cross-functionally to ensure satisfaction from all levels of the teams you support, identifying training needs and following through to drive desired business outcomes. You will create and implement processes, templates, and best practices, then ensure guidelines are met with all learning solutions. You will evaluate success using Kirkpatrick’s four levels and develop innovative, technology-based solutions focused on a consistent learning experience across the board. The role requires strong people-management skills, agility, and a collaborative approach to creating solutions that drive maximum impact. You must be able to lead and inspire a team of direct reports to continue growing, innovating, and improving on existing processes with the goal of providing the teams we support with the knowledge and resources needed for successful job performance. 


About this roll*: 

  • Define learning design and delivery standards in collaboration with the enablement leadership team, then implement these standards for all enablement learning solutions 
  • Recommend and guide improvements to workflows, tools, and enablement solutions that allow us to scale quickly while setting our learners up for success 
  • Upskill the team to adopt standardized evaluation practices, then pull reporting, analyze findings, and collaborate with stakeholders to create action plans to drive improvement
  • Work alongside your team in creating and delivering learning solutions based on the desired outcomes and scope of each need (ILT, eLearning, blended learning, job aids, videos, gamification, and more)
  • Gain buy-in from cross-functional leaders on advised processes and frameworks by clearly showing a tie to business objectives 
  • Develop a team of learning design & delivery specialists through inspiration, performance management, and coaching 
  • Identify opportunities and iterate continuously to maximize the effectiveness and support of our learning design solutions


Do you have the right ingredients*

  • 3+ years of experience in an enablement, training, instructional design or related field
  • People management experience with a proven ability to empower, coach, and develop individuals 
  • Exceptional instructional design and facilitation skills with a history of success driving impact through creative learning solutions
  • Strong working knowledge of eLearning tools, video editing tools, and LMS systems 
  • Proven success managing processes around large-scale projects: Ability to identify a problem, ideate on potential solutions, build data-backed recommendations, engage stakeholders, and deliver a solution consistent with those recommendations
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and communicate effectively while under pressure - balancing confidence, humility and diplomacy
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with ambiguity
  • A balance of detail-oriented execution and big picture thinking 
  • Generally curious and embraces an open mindset (always looking for ways to improve skills and learn new things)
