Learning Experience Designer - Remote/Virtual - any US based location

Location: San Diego, CA or Virtual

As a Learning Experience Designer on our Sales Enablement team you will research, recommend, and produce a variety of complex, media rich, and highly interactive courses to uplevel the knowledge and skills for our Go-to-Market teams. As a core member of our Sales Enablement team, this role will focus on leading and assisting the design and development of learning programs and enablement resources using a variety of formats including eLearning, instructor-led, and blended learning methods. In this role you will collaborate with a variety of teams within Teradata (including Sales, Marketing, Operations and more).

You are a confident, articulate professional experienced in designing and developing innovative learning solutions utilizing a variety of methods and tools. You are a skilled and agile developer confident with the ability to translate concepts into easy-to-understand training that ranges from industry standard to creative, new approaches. The successful candidate also assesses design needs to craft effective and efficient plans for performance solutions and services that address business-specific requirements and constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops learning sessions using multiple technologies and modalities such as self-paced eLearning modules, video sessions, ILT/vILT classroom sessions, blended learning and performance support materials for sales and consulting audiences
  • Contributes to and creates storyboarding, authoring, and development of e-learning content and blended learning solutions
  • Coordinates and manages the training cycle as needed including design/development and web-based learning
  • Works with subject matter experts (SMEs) to produce content that is highly engaging and effective at empowering learners to immediately execute and apply knowledge
  • Leads the efforts to establish effective processes and procedures to create and maintain quality assurance standards for content that supports and enhances the Enablement team brand.
  • Experiments with new approaches to learning which scale and drive engagement
  • Transforms textual learning content to interactive videos, quiz creators, animations, gamification methods, etc.
  • Provides expert consultation on learning techniques, instructional design theory and digital technology solutions for eLearning and classroom


Minimum Qualifications

Candidate must have 7 years of experience, preferably in instructional design, learning technologies, consulting, or other related disciplines. The candidate must have demonstrated experience with multiple types of learning solutions (including, but not limited to e-learning courses, mobile learning, simulations, microlearning, ILT and vILT programs, and blended learning/flipped classroom). Bachelor's degree required.

  • Proficiency with course authoring tools including TechSmith Camtasia, Articulate Storyline and Rise, and Adobe Captivate
  • Proven self-starter with ability to juggle priorities, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment
  • Challenge existing models and processes to design innovative learning that can be used just-in-time and provide on-the-job performance support
  • Strong critical and strategic thinker with ability to ramp-up quickly
  • Robust communication skills (verbal, written) including ability to present, facilitate, and influence
  • Independent problem solver who will take initiative and execute work
  • Must be deadline driven, organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task
  • Ability to work positively and collaboratively with team members at all levels, leaders and cross-functional team members
  • Dedication to training adoption and impact, demonstrating results from past experience for program adoption.


These skills are a plus:

  • Experience with graphic development tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Premier
  • Experience supporting sales and consultants in a complex enterprise sales environment
