Job Description

We're looking for a passionate mobile free-to-play Junior Game Designer to join our Disney Magic Kingdoms team to learn, develop, and impact a highly successful game! If you’ve ever dreamed of working on a Disney project that features the classics (such as Star Wars and the latest releases), then this opportunity is for you. On this team, you’ll have the chance to flex your design skills on content, features, and learn from a team of experienced designers. From the beginning of your journey with us you will:

  • Contribute to feature and content design for world class mobile games.
  • Work on game systems, social features, monetization, and much more.
  • Configure data in the game engine to turn design into reality.
  • Champion your designs from initial pitch through implementation, launch, and evolution.
  • Work closely with artists, programmers, and QA to implement designs and hit targets.
  • Use playtests, player feedback, and metrics to gain insights and refine your designs.
  • Analyze competitive games to be an expert in the audience and market.
  • Pitch creative new game ideas for upcoming projects.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Passion for mobile free-to-play games.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for game design, which could be shown through:
    • Experience working at a game company;
    • Post-secondary degree in a game design or related field;
    • Portfolio of personal projects.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and visual communication skills;
  • An understanding of game metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Strong technical ability to learn and master new software tools.
  • Ability to adapt and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and creative environment.
  • Collaborative spirit and love of teamwork.
  • Creative imagination and ability to think outside the box.

As bonus, we’ll also consider:

  • Experience working with an established game engine, such as Unity.
  • Demonstrated passion for game design shown through personal game projects.
  • Expert skills with spreadsheets tools, image editors, and flowchart software.
