Job Description
Responsibilities:

  • Lead the instructional design activities for the team.
  • Manage and assist with the following.
    • Project manage learning projects of various levels of scope and manage the roadmap for core learning with direction and support from learning leader and team.
    • Represent instructional design role in departmental and cross-functional meetings. Manage and assist in the content development process and work closely with instructors, authors, and subject-matter experts as needed to ensure delivery of quality curriculum. Work with business leaders and subject matter experts to identify target audience's training needs and to gather, validate and design content.
    • Manage and report on the day-to-day operations of instructional efforts such as project scheduling, workload, capacity, and quality.
    • Implement and continually improve instructional design experience and processes.
    • Guide and assist in the maintenance and improvement of instructional design templates and guidelines.
    • Apply industry-standard instructional design and content development processes, models, and frameworks.
    • Ensure new and revised content is tied to both program- and course-level outcomes, objectives, and assessments. Ensure all assessments are tied to course objectives and test to appropriate levels of Bloom's taxonomy.
    • Employ instructional design processes (such as ADDIE) to create course content, materials and learning objectives to meet specific needs of organization, learner, situation or delivery tools
    • Create engaging and varied learning activities, exercises, and compelling course content to engage different learning styles and increase retention
    • Stimulate interest, engagement and enhance learner understanding through appropriate examples, demonstrations, media clips, slides, anecdotes, stories, analogies, and discussion
    • Collaborate with other training team members to develop web-based learning interactions or facilitator-led training activities
    • Validate and update training content to ensure ongoing accuracy and relevancy
    • Collaborate with subject matter expert to publish content in the corporate LMS or other content tools for delivery and tracking purposes
    • Responsible for evaluating learning program effectiveness through industry accepted post-training evaluation processes and methodologies


Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • Ability to lead and develop a team and projects in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Ability and desire to learn multiple systems, processes, products, and industry knowledge quickly
  • Ability to apply Adult Learning Theories to instructional design, development, and evaluation methodologies
  • Ability to build and manage multiple partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills
  • Good judgment and proactive problem-solving ability
  • Strong business acumen: understanding the strategy, processes, culture, functions, and needs of the business
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated agility and ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem solving ability and creativity
  • 3+ years learning and development experience and demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced in the L&D environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, on-line meeting/learning tools, and design tools. Knowledge of content authoring tools, particularly Articulate 360.
  • Knowledge of learning management systems a plus. (particularly SABA)
  • Previous project management experience a plus.
  • Ability to design, manage, and deliver learning solutions by effectively anticipating, soliciting, and demonstrating a clear understanding of client needs
