THE ROLE

We are looking for a professional Instructional Designer to design/storyboard and develop training content for different modalities. You will work directly with subject matter experts to conduct needs analysis, to develop learning objectives, and to design appropriate content and assessments. This role requires an ability to develop technical concepts and features into content that can be absorbed across a variety of professional levels. It also requires proficiency with Articulate Storyline and with video editing tools (Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent).

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE

  • Apply proven instructional design theories and methods to the development of engaging and relevant content that enhances learning transfer and retention
  • Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training needs
  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on our learners and stakeholders
  • Create learning objectives to appropriately match the identified training needs, and design content that meets those goals
  • In collaboration with SMEs, produce hands on exercises, activities, and assessments that align with the content and learner, and are designed to reinforce learning
  • Edit videos produced by SMEs to make quality, coherent content; transform audio files to AI voices and correct pronunciation and cadence to make a fluid effective narration 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • At least 3-5 years of direct, sole responsibility for designing and producing learning content for software applications
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Solid knowledge of course development software, including Articulate Storyline, and at least one Learning Management System
  • Highly experienced with video editing using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and proficiency in producing AI voice tracks to sync with video
  • Fluency in English, with an ability to write clear, effective instructional text, audio & video scripts, and to edit the work of others to follow department standards
  • Comfortable with learning and using technical terminology
  • Work hours within one of these four North American time zones (Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific)
  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or similar
  • Team player
