Human Factors Specialist

We’re looking for a Human Factors Specialist to join our Snap Lab team.
What you’ll do:
Build and own the human factors discipline within Snap Lab
Establish a Snap human factors database, develop standards, and design principles
Employ qualitative and quantitative methods and tools to conduct user-centered research, testing, and analysis
Collect, analyze, and standardize ergonomic datasets (e.g head shapes, head dimensions, etc.), through existing industry resources and by conducting user studies
Use data to directly impact the design of our products: improve user experience, increase product wearability, and enhance performance
Stay up-to-date with worldwide human factors publications, standards, and heuristics
Collaborate with industrial designers to enhance hardware design using findings from prototype evaluation and demographic data
Establish cross-functional relationships with engineering, user research, and R&D teams
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Solid understanding of ergonomics and biomechanics
Knowledge of visual science, auditory science, human motor control
Understanding of AR, VR, MR systems and technologies
Understanding of the product development process
Strong technical writing skills
Basic working knowledge in a 3D CAD software (NX, Solidworks, Creo, Rhino, or similar)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as engineering or equivalent years of experience
5+ years of relevant human factors experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a related field
Experience in human factors research and product development
Experience working with headsets or other wearable technologies
Experience negotiating complex trade studies to optimize for wearability, usability, schedule, and performance
Experience creating and analyzing physical human interfaces using digital human models
